24 y/o Australian born Filipino TV Host and Model, Catriona Magnayon Gray has won the 2018 Miss Universe Pageant in Bangkok as she beat out heavy favourites going into the competition that has shocked many including Puerto Rico, Thailand, Vietnam and Canada to name a few as these were the crowd favourites.

She represented the Philippines as she was born to a Scottish-Australian Father and Filipino mother where judges were impressed with her FINAL ANSWER to MARIJUANA where she only agreed with it medically but is AGAINST it RECREATIONALLY and also said that she works in the slums of Manila where it taught her to "look in the beauty of the children" and to be grateful for what you have.

She edged out South Africa's Tamaryn Green and Sthefany Gutierrez of Venezuela and succeeds last year's winner from South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters

Controversial Heifers, Sarah Rose Summeres and Australia's Francesca Hung who mocked Asian contestants for not being able to speak English made the top 20 but did not advance further than that

Catriona was also previously Miss World Philippines in 2016 and is the first woman in history to be awarded both World and Universe national titles and is also an accomplished singer

She's vocal about her importance of education and is passionate advocate for gender equality, social justice and human rights

This was also the first contest where a trans woman from Spain made the pageant but she did not make the Top 20 cut
