Captain Planet, DIO, General Zod, Gipsy Danger, Loki, Mechagodzilla, Quicksilver, Sandman, the Powerpuff Girls, The Cloverfield Monster, The Man in Black and Thor have challenged King Ghidorah to a fight! Location of the fight: Manhattan - The entirety of Manhattan is as it was seen in Cloverfield; battered to hell and back by a giant monster, with all bridges and exits to the island smashed. No one may leave.. Which side will win?

Guidelines

- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence), focusing on how the characters would function in a real-time environment.

- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.

- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.

- There may be SPOILERS from all of the shows/movies the characters are from.

Rules for Voting

- Bold your votes (using bold HTML tags).

- You do not need to require justification for your vote, though the admins reserve the right to disqualify votes in the advent of obvious alt voting and other similar scenarios.

- Leaders cannot vote for their own teams, but they are free to argue their case.

- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.

King Ghidorah is as seen in Godzilla: King of Monsters with all shown feats and regeneration.

Captain Planet is as he appears in Captain Planet and the Planeteers. He does not need to be summoned by the Planeteers prior to starting the match. He is strengthened by natural elements and weakened by pollution.

DIO is as he appears in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, before drinking Joseph Joestar's blood. He possesses all techniques demonstrated in Phantom Blood, but cannot create zombies or manipulate minds using flesh buds. He can only last up to 30 cumulative seconds (excluding frozen time) in direct sunlight, at which point he will immediately perish. King Ghidorah will be conscious during DIO's frozen time, and will be able to move for one second during it per time freeze.

General Zod is as he appears in Man of Steel (no comic feats) with all displayed powers and wearing his combat armor. He only has the amount of solar energy stored as he did in the movie and may not increase it.

Gipsy Danger is as it appears in Pacific Rim, piloted by Mako Mori and Raleigh Becket. It has access to all of its weapons and capabilities seen therein, with the exception of detonating its core for a nuclear blast. Whenever Gipsy Danger enters combat, it will sound its horn, instantly alerting all mercenaries throughout the terrain that battle is underway, regardless of distance. Additionally, the Pacific Rim Main Theme will begin to play, and will persist until the end of the battle.

Loki is as he appears in the Thor films and Avengers carrying his scepter and daggers. He may not mind control others.

Kiryu, AKA Mechagodzilla is as seen in the Millenium era Godzilla films piloted by Akane Yashiro. It has access to all weapons seen in those films.

Peter Maximoff, also known as the mutant Quicksilver, is as seen as a member of the X-Men in X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. He comes to battle unarmed in his Pink Floyd t-shirt and silver jacket. Feats from The Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as any comic feats, do not apply. Quicksilver spent his team's pre-battle planning listening to his Walkman and is unaware of any plans his team may have, and will act independent of any strategy they might have.

Flint Marko aka The Sandman is as he appears in the final fight of Spider-Man 3, with access to as much sand as he had in that fight. He may however shapeshift back into human form if he chooses to.

Bubbles is as she appears in The Powerpuff Girls, with all abilities and feats from the show and related media, including TV movies and the 2016 reboot. She cannot fly fast enough to break time.

The Cloverfield Monster is as seen in Cloverfield, a 25 story creature with many appendages. It may not drop parasites.

The Man In Black is as he appears in LOST. He may transform freely into his Smoke Monster form. If The Light is extinguished, he will become completely mortal and will lose access to his Smoke Monster form. A small pool of water will spawn in the dead center of the terrain, emanating a bright light, with a stone cork in the center, as seen in The Heart of the Island. If the terrain would not normally allow for it, it will be warped to make room. If the cork is removed or broken, the pool will drain and the light will extinguish.

Thor is as he appears in the Thor, The Avengers and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though any comic feats are banned. He is armed with Mjolnir and appears in his combat armor.

Well for one, this version of Ghidorah generates a cat 6 hurricane wherever he goes just by existing. So I'm inclined to think this roster is actually smaller than it looks just via "Who can actually fight in a non-stop hurricane of that magnitude?"

So remove Zod and add in the fact that Bubbles is pretty hard countered by her "be nice to the monster to get it to leave" episode, and you've got Thor hard countering lightning, Cloverfield existing to eat a few hits and die, Kiryu actually fighting, Gipsy actually fighting but losing, Quicksilver and DIO doing... something, I guess, maybe Incredible Journeying it and like freezing his weird heart or something or, like, freezing time and cutting out one of the eyes, Loki could theoretically do that too but MCU Loki is the biggest jobber to the stars, and everyone else is just dead on arrival due to Gidorah's weather aura passive.

I see it going the way of Team Kiryu more often than not. Thor's a fantastic damage sponge, DIO is literally immortal versus Gidorah's "probably immortal" so if the planet blows up DIO wins the timer scam of "well now what", and it basically ends up as "all of these smart peoples' plans ended up failing, sucks", which is the least likely thing to happen when heroes unite against a giant monster.

Looking at that post you made kamek, if planet dies, i'd put that as a Gidorah wins, due to the dead in thirty seconds clause on dio (no planet, sun's right there). In reality, without zod, and that rather good explanation, i'd put it at a push without zod around.

Really Ghidorah's beams are just horrifically powerful, given how he straight up nukes Mothra into ash with no effort and otherwise drops Godzilla with a few more. I feel like the passive hurricane reduces this roster to Dio/Gipsy/Mechagodzilla/Cloverfield/Bubbles/Thor (no one else can properly fight in that shit), and out of that lot, I'd only give Mechagodzilla and Thor enough credit to not get beam nuked. The others can take some shots, but they're distractions at best.

As usual, I watched a movie and had an idea for a character that might not work at all

Mysterio (Spiderman: Far From Home)
Heroic Male Otherworldly
4?/week

Mysterio is as he appears in Spiderman: Far From Home, armed with a handgun, in possession of EDITH, and with his full compliment of drones. He does not need an outside crew to control his gadgets.

Mysterio is the Truth (Passive) - Any abilities declared that would target Mysterio's classifications of Heroic or Otherworldly will mysteriously null and be unusable for the rest of the week.

Master of Illusion (Peacetime) - Every three weeks, Mysterio may leave his team during Peacetime. He will join an enemy team of his owner's choosing for that week, costing no upkeep for anyone. He's just that nice a guy. He must however be rostered by his new team that week, and will force himself into a roster slot if necessary by way of random ejection at the time of roster declarations.

It's Easy to Fool People When They're Already Fooling Themselves (Wartime) - At his original owner's behest, they may declare this ability to bring Mysterio back to their team at the start of battle (if so, Mysterio must be rostered on his original team as per the terms of Master of Illusion). All isn't lost though, the slot that Mysterio was filling on the target team will be filled by a random merc on their team who was not rostered that week. They still must meet the week's tier limits however, and if the random choice wouldn't otherwise fit, the enemy team will just have to battle a man down that week. What a hero.

I want to play a game. (Start of Battle, Limited Use 4) - Once every 6 weeks, Jigsaw will capture all rostered mercs. There will be no teams; everyone will work on their own. They will all start the match passed out in a giant abandoned building filled to the brim with a nearly infinite amount of death traps. They will be stripped of their weapons and supernatural abilities, needing to rely on their intelligence and personalities to escape. After an hour of being trapped, if any mercs are still alive, they will be informed that only one can get out alive. The building will begin to fill with sarin gas. Rather than voting for a team, people will vote on which merc they think will be the one to escape the building. All mercenary votes will be counted toward their leader. Votes for "everyone dies" will be considered a vote for Jigsaw's team.

Tricky thing is characters like Robocop and Rick, who have weapons built into their bodies. I guess for convenience sake we'd just assume any internal weapons/abilities are magically disabled.

Also brings into questions what all is considered a power. Does that make Eddie Brock unable to shapeshift or act as Venom at all? Does that mean Colossus loses his metallic skin (in the X-Men films it's shown to be a power he can turn on and off, but in Deadpool, it's always on, though it is still technically a mutation)

Venom - basically just normal Eddie Brock, possibly with Venom-influenced personality
Rick Sanchez - No internal weapons/defences

All that being said, I think this goes to Rick fairly easy, as he can outsmart pretty much anyone here without much trouble and the show makes him out as an absolutely expert at mcguyvering his way out of any situation (see the Pickle Rick rat corpse body armor) so having him in a building packed to the brim with complicated death traps is directly playing into his strengths

Looking at that, i'd say it either goes to Rick or Indy. Indy is just as good at surviving deathtraps, finding tools to make up for what's missing, and has more than enough agility/luck to survive the hour, and also quite the right hook to deal with whoever's annoying him, which can't really be taken away.

Doesn't help there are two guys (Michael and Demogorgon) who are fairly mindless and not even going to play, they're just going to set about killing people
