Wait, why is it divided by the decade ranking? Isn't that a factor that's almost, essentially, evenly distributed and would probably place each song at the same relative point on each? Like, if I nominated a song that was in your 50th percentile on both lists, that would end up being treated the same as a song that was in your 90th percentile on both or a song in your 10th percentile on both.

Like, I guess it can deviate a little if you really liked one decade over another, but not only have you been very even-minded about that so far, but it also has nothing to do with the nominator themselves.

I can kind of see why he did it in part because the 70s songs have been heavily weighted towards the bottom of the list so, like #704's "Jessica" is in 81st place among 70s songs, but 705. is #179 for 2000s and 703. is #175 for 90s. Since we all nominated three for each decade, it also presents how well we scored amongst those as well. It's weird, but I'm okay with the complexity.

Even though it means I'm last place instead of first XD

I truly can't say that I've ever been a fan of this song. I do like love songs from time to time but I think what ruins this one for me is that I know it was written for Chrissy Tiegen and I just don't find her attractive tbh. Something about her personality bugs me too so there is that. Anyway, it is a well written tune and it was definitely overplayed on the radio when it came out. It obviously made it to #1 on the charts and it became Legends first #1 in the US. The song also became the top grossing single of 2014 which makes sense as much as I heard it that year. That's about all I got to say on that though.

It's kind of weird that I appreciate Queen for their popularity but only like a couple of their songs and would normally be dismissive of them otherwise. This song did ok as far as I can tell. It's been featured in quite a few movies and tv shows including The Simpsons and Family Guy and I think it even appeared in a couple of commercials. The song was written for John Deacon's wife. He was the Bass guitarist for the band in case you didn't know.

I don't know why but every time I hear the very intro of this song it makes me think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II Secret of the Ooze. I wonder if there is a scene somewhere in there that has similar background music or something. I'll have to watch that again sometime and try and figure that out. Anyway, this song is kind of cheesy but that was most of the 80's tbh. I don't know much about the artist so no tidbits here but I do believe he was a one-hit-wonder if you can call this a hit. Another short write-up unfortunately.

I always think this is a Bowling For Soup song when I hear it even though I'm pretty sure I was aware of this song before I knew about them. They have a very similar style. Anyway, this makes me reflect on my own childhood as I had a friend that we taunted because of how hot his mom was lol. Some of the first fantasies I had about girls included her so I definitely understand the message of the song... however, now that I'm older I also see how creepy that is. This song got a ton of radio play and still does from time to time but it never became popular enough to top the charts. It did come out when Power Pop was beginning to wane so maybe it's release was just poor timing.

This song had similar simultaneous release with another version of the same song so I'm not 100% which came first. The other version is more Country Rock than Pop Rock but both sing of a place in the Himalayas that is cited in some ancient texts as a place of enlightenment. I guess the lyrics and story are a metaphor for journeying to a place where kindness and cooperation are ideal. Supposedly there is an actual temple in Peru that was cited as the original location of the ancient texts. The song is quite recognizable but the band isn't all that common imo.

They're fairly common on the local oldies station--or at least were when I was still listening to them. Besides Shambala, "Joy to the World", "An Old Fashioned Love Song", and "Mama Told Me Not to Come" were still getting regular play.

"Never Been to Spain" occasionally and "Easy to be Hard" once in a blue moon (think it's too old for the station these days, but feels like I heard it not that long ago). Getting six songs to be in regular rotation for so long isn't bad... though I wouldn't expect to hear them often outside stations specializing on 70's music.

No, the entrance to White Lodge, as well ad the Black Lodge, is near Twin Peaks, Washington

Also, Three Dog Night is definitely big on oldies radio. "JEREMIAH WAS A BULLFROG"

Going through the list because I'm bored at work and need to focus on something pther than knee pain while doing nothing:

- In the bottom 100, I only know ten songs, even when I had listened to a good chunk of them as they were posted. The only one I retained any memory of was "'93 til Infinity" which still hits. Surprisingly, lol, I like my "T.I.M.E." nom the most even over "Born to Run" and "Angie".

- Thought I knew "Shot Through the Heart" but then I realized you didn't give love a bad name. :P

- Glen Campbell's "Southern Nights" is definitely superior. Started this post specifically to also mention this "Sunny" is vastly superior than whatever was happening in that disco version. Too bad it was 60s.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubvYQxTXO3U" data-time="

- Reflecting that last comment, there were so many songs I thought I knew by title alone until I listened and read your commentary and realized I was not listening to the world I know (I'm wondering if that Collective Soul song shows up). Knew 30 songs as they were nominated; 8 songs I knew one or more alternates artists singing; and of the 30 I knew, at least four of them I knew the alternate (jokingly including "Best Song Ever"'s "Baba O'Riley")

- Gonna do top 10% of these chunks so Top 3 of 30:
"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder (1143)
"#41" by Dave Matthews Band (my nom) (1134)
"Fly Like An Eagle" by Steve Miller Band (1140)

- So many seventies songs got slaughtered. Lol

Taking a break to charge my phone. Then I'll go back, Jack, and do it again.

- 45 between 1100 and 1001. Top 4
"Best of You" by Foo Fighters (1080)
"Baba O'Riley" by The Who (1040)
"Band on the Run" by Paul McCartney & Wings (1021)
"Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac (1029)

- So far I've recognized 85/300 songs, which is both more and less of what I expected. It feels like more songs than I was expecting, but it's still just a meager percentage. Of those, almost half are 70s songs. I betcha if there were 60s songs, that would be winning out. The other four decades are pretty much even. 44 70s tunes, and the other decades are between 8 and 12 each.

- Re: "Tarzan Boy" - I do hope I made some kind of YTMND comment. Nice to see 1985 make it to the list, although we've already seen Madonna, Nirvana, and Blondie though I don't know about Stacy and U2.

- 57 between 1000 and 901. Top 5
"Let's Stay Together" by Al Green (my nom)
"Everlong" by Foo Fighters
"Roundtable Rival" by Lindsay Stirling (my nom)
"Night Begins to Shine" by B.E.R. (my nom)
"A Little Piece of Heaven" by Avenged Sevenfold

Into the current topic!!

While I like Daft Punk a bit, I'm really not sure what I think about this collaboration. It's ok I guess but a bit too much like Michael Jackson which if some of you haven't been paying attention, I am really not a big fan of. We are getting ever closer to the top 100 songs from this decade though. It's about time too. Gotta get them out of the way for all of the classics at the top.:P The song got a couple of nominations and won song of the year at the BMI Hip Hop awards. It was originally released as a digital download and came out on album 6 days later. The collaboration came to fruition because The Weeknd is actually a long time friend with one of the members of Daft Punk.

I hate that I gave this song a such a high score on the beat and I feel like I might have been generous with the hook as well. I don't necessarily feel now that I'd be as interested in hearing this as I obviously was when I pre-scored it but I must have been feeling the beat when I listened to it then or something lol. It was a catchy tune for many and was just another single from Teenage Dream that helped rocket Katy to the peak of her career. And yes 2010 was her peak imo; Prove me wrong if you disagree. Anyway, the song is now our first (and likely) only Disco Pop song. I'm not 100% but I feel like I'm pretty sure there aren't any other songs from the genre on the list (I'm too lazy to check atm).

How many of you here were in junior or high school when this became popular? I bet there are a fair amount of us here from this age bracket honestly. This was always a catchy beat though imo. It's pretty hard to dismiss the melody here as it alternates through an often popular waning/waxing 4 chord progression style that shows up in a fair amount of Pop Punk and Alternative Rock songs. I don't know if I've ever heard another song by this band before but I may seek something out eventually. I grabbed the song from a Top 100 90's tunes' list because it was mixed in a string of like 6 or 7 songs that I insta-added for popularity.

Ordinarily I'd appreciate this song more since I was more familiar with it in Junior High but... it hasn't held up well over time for me. I kinda like the beat a little and the lyrical beat box lines are cool but when I analyze the vocals a bit deeper I can't hear anything but a raspy aging man. The lead singer isn't what anyone would picture when hearing this for the first time I bet. That stache is kinda distracting lol. Anyway, I feel like this came out of the tail end of the 80's sometimes because it has a slight 80's vibe imo. I kinda missed the year on this one as far as the format of this ranking goes. For the most part in the ranking I decided to list the year as the year of the album's release that contained the song but in this case I have listed the year of the single's release. The album actually came out in 1995.

Not a big fan of the drawn out intro in the official video release. Not sure if it is in the radio edit because I don't believe I've ever caught the beginning of this song on the air. I'm assuming it isn't though because it's not a common thing to see in a radio edit. This song takes some time to get started but when it does I learn that I only like one part of the song. I really like the way the chorus lyrics are perfectly married with the melody as if each word is a note itself. Unfortunately that is the only part I really like. I could honestly listen to that on replay for the entire length of this song and I would think it is one of the best songs ever. Disappointingly for Snake I'm sure is the fact that this will never be as high as it should be in retrospect to the rest of Taylor's listed songs here. Or... maybe I'll get lucky and all his favorites are at the top where they could be? :P

I so wish I could bump this higher but I cannot using the original version if I am to remain consistent in scrutiny. We have yet to get to the part of the ranking where rules bend to almost broken. However, If I were ranking the best version imo shown below this would be quite a ways further up the list. There are few songs in which I truly feel spiritual and emotional but this versions' chorus gets me every time. Closing my eyes and raising my hands to the air is a natural internal reaction and an overwhelming appreciation for all the things I have in life fill the tears in my eyes. It is sad and true. I love the original version of Hallelujah. The many covers and remakes have their advantages, but most of them completely change the last two verses which are my favorite parts of the song. There's also a lot of...weight, the way Cohen performs it, that I really connect with.

Scatman is also good, though I don't have as strong an attachment to it.

Oy... I'm not sure I truly appreciate this song anymore. It's melodies are great but a bit jagged to my ears. It makes it hard for me to get in tune with the song but I do recall when this came out. It was somewhat of a big hit on a bunch of Alternative radio stations in my area. The chorus is obviously redundant but forces me in a way to throw shade on the vocals for some reason. I can't really recall if I've ever heard anything else from these guys and this is the only song that gives them representation here so that is probably unfortunate news for any fans of the band. I don't know much about them either really. I was always pretty dedicated to a couple of bands for my Pop Punk fix; neither of which have appeared yet in the ranking but most assuredly will.

What an intoxicating intro am I rite? This was primo 90's Grunge imo. I'm not sure why it didn't get to the top of the Billboard list but I always thought it did well. When I hear it I instantly time travel back to high school in reflection. So many things that I have somehow connected to this song but I got lots of memories of hanging out in the IT wing either in Engineering 101, Graphic Arts or Woodshop. Listening to the radio was required in those classes as most of the time students meandered around from one project to the next and the teachers were always cool as s***. It's an odd feeling to know that when I'm 80 I'll be calling this one a classic. Too bad it didn't get higher on the list though.

And so we have come to another user nomination. They seem to be coming fewer and further apart lately. Unfortunately though for azuarc we must say goodbye to another of your nominations bringing you down to 3 remaining. This bumps you up to 2nd place atm in the nominator ranking though. I honestly thought I had heard this song before going into it but quickly realized that I was experiencing it for the first time (several more times by the time I wrote this writeup though). It's got an interesting James Bond vibe that would either be a great theme for a new movie or perhaps an action packed video game. Speaking of that I could also imagine speeding along in Gran Turismo or Need For Speed with this playing in the background as well. The guitar shredding is top notch and I love the effects and reverberation here. I would easily listen to this any time I heard it on the radio... if I ever did.

Meh... not so much of a Shawn Mendes fan here tbh. I think he's got ok vocals but I don't really feel drawn to his vocal technique. I actually kinda thought that this guy and the Hozier dude were the same but clearly they are not. If you are a Shawn Mendes fan you might be pleased that there is one more song of his somewhere up the list. Feel free to guess which one. I know very little about the artist here but he does unfortunately get slumped into the other 2010 songs that I casually dismiss. I've been very picky this decade but that could be because of my constant looking back and remembrance of the first 30 years of my life. 2010 is when I officially started to become "older" and we all eventually tend to miss when we were young do we not? Things were just better in my youth imo.

Did I ever say that I once had a crush on Rihanna? Well, I can't actually say I had a crush on her specifically but I did get excited over a few photos of her in bondage... *drools but um... oh yeah, the song. This is a decent Dance beat even though it isn't immediately catchy for me. The video shows kind of a weird side to Rihanna but I don't really find it disturbing. It's a little sexy at times but no more confusing than a lot of the Dance Pop videos that were surfacing in the late 00's. I remember this poll once somewhere where someone pitted Beyonce against Rihanna and Rihanna won by a landslide. It wasn't gamefaqs but might have been something I saw on my wife's facebook. I don't recall exactly where I saw it. Anyway, that's 5 new rankings for this block. Gonna try and get more done today since I am so far behind but that won't be until after I hit the gym and take the family swimming. It's already hot as hell out so it'll be nice to be in the water.

I never heard the song before you submitted it to the ranking and it's got me bouncing my head a few times since then. Unfortunately the song is lyrically shallow even though the melody is fun. The message is tough to work out as well but I guess it's up to interpretation. I was a little surprised to see that this was an 80's song because it really sounds much more modern than that imo. Nothing much else to say due to unfamiliarity.

#1 on US Mainstream Rock, #2 on US Alt. I realize that's not the Billboard list, but rock songs have a hard time performing well on Billboard. Collective Soul had seven #1 hits on US Rock, and none of them made the top 10 on Billboard.

Justin Beiber fans rejoice, it's another of his popular tunes! This one catches my attention but I sort of lose interest after the intro tbh. The beat is obviously decent but boy band beats have never really been my thing aside from a few that slip through and infect my mind from time to time. I don't know if it's because he actually does but I feel like no matter how old Beiber gets he always sounds like a little boy imo. Justin has had his ups and downs as one could predict for a child star. Children who become famous always seem to have a rough streak eventually in life. As soon as they become adults they lash out at the oppressive world around them because keeping a schedule as a child performance artist is an immense amount of pressure even for an adult... or so I've heard.

Gotta hand it to this song. It made it this high on the list almost entirely because of the saxophone bit. I don't even know what the other s*** is that is ruining this song. Play me a full 6 minutes of just the sax and I'd love it way more than the verse portion of this tune. It doesn't even fit with the sax bit imo and has no business being there. Aggghhh! So frustrating. At least it tries with the solo guitar bit but I still feel the same for the most part. The other way this could work is to remove the vocals completely. It wouldn't be a half bad instrumental tbh. Anyway, this knocks you down to 2 nominations remaining Alanna. There are 23 more user nominations left in the ranking if anyone is curious.

Man I used to love this instrumental. I mean, I still do but I've listened to it a lot over the years. I'm a big Piano guy of course so this reels me in easy peasy. The fast scales and harmonics are perfect together and you really get the sense when listening that something epic is the focus of the story being told in the music. Obviously it is up to interpretation but I really get the sense of flight here as one would imagine soaring over and across the ocean. Not much of a beat to get excited for but the melody does alright by itself. Even though there is typically an intended message with every song you hear, this one is a bit tougher to decipher. I feel the emotion in the music but I'm not sure if it is to be happy or sad. Although I have listened to this while depressed before and it was oddly uplifting.

I remember a time when I was a Tool fan that I got super excited about this band... but then they kind of let me down. The lead member is of course Maynard James Keenan the vocalist for Tool. The band only made 4 albums but had a bunch of associated acts including Tool, Ashes Divide, Puscifer, Nine Inch Nails and Tapeworm. Before I was a temporary fan I had a friend that only listened to Tool because it was the only band he had introduced to our group of friends and he took pride in that for some reason. I hadn't heard of the band before he brought it to my attention so I'll give him that but I'm willing to bet he doesn't even know the names of the band members lol. He was never that kind of a fan of anything. Anyway, it's an ok song. I like Judith also but that didn't even make it into the ranking if that tells you anything.

So... at some point in 1999 I became weirdly obsessed with Eurodance listening to everything from Eiffel 65 to Alice Deejay some of which you'll see in this ranking. It wasn't a terribly long spell since 1999 had a lot of successful genres to offer but I was totally enamored by the club beats. I didn't spend too much time going out because I worked a lot my Senior year while going to school but I did hit up a couple of raves that year. I never took any psychotropic drugs because I was young and didn't need them but it didn't stop me from tripping out on good vibes and getting my dance on. If you've never heard this tune before now I hope you like it because it's a very fun tune imo.

Aww man... total bummer Snake. It looks like your nominations are finished. I like that your highest ranking tune is a fun one though. The beat is infectious but unfortunately I'm not into the Nelly Furtado-ish vocals. It might have actually gone a little bit higher if it wasn't for that. You got creamed in the unfamiliarity category since your recommendation is the first I've ever seen this song. Stay tuned until after the ranking though and you may see this go much higher without that category. I was surprised that this wasn't as popular as it obviously should have been but that is still a rising Top 100 # since this song is still relatively new in comparison to everything else on the list. It feels like it should have been a summertime hit but 2016/2017 wasn't the greatest for me so it's possible I just missed it.

Um... Not a song I am comfortable listnening to at home for sure with kids around. Hell this one even makes me uncomfortable when I'm by myself. I honestly can't say I've even listened to a whole lot of Hardcore Punk and if this song is an indicator of how brash it is then maybe that's why I've avoided it most of my life. I warn you all that this song is a little explicit by the end. I mean, I'm no prude but this is kinda over the top and in your face with the sexual overtones. It's got a beat but it isn't too redeeming for the other issues I have with the song unfortunately.

I'm generally an acoustic fan so this tune catches my attention right away but then the lyrics come in and I have to wonder if this is meant to be comedy which makes me take the song less seriously for some reason. It's a fine song really but I don't think I'll need to listen to any of the bands other work if this is what is to be expected. I like a good Blues Rock song but this just isn't in the group of songs that I would consider top tier.

I've never really listened to anything from this band before and this song is more Punk Rock but the band has been labeled as one of the earliest pioneers of Grunge. Wait... what? This is one of your nominations Snake? I'm kinda shocked, didn't peg you for someone that liked Country. I, on the other hand do not care much for Country music. I can deal with Classic Country but Pop Country or what is basically known as regular Country now (since Pop Country now has evolved into something else) just never caught on with me. I actually don't even find this chic attractive at all if it tells you much how anti-country I am lol. I settled at middle of the road on the beat and vocals here and the fans clearly like it but I had actually never heard this song before and it is definitely something I'd never be caught singing along to.

I am most certainly familiar with Incubus but I wouldn't go as far as saying that this is one of their better songs as I have heard better. It's still on ok metal track despite how short it is though. The message is the highest scoring thing for me here and everything else is kind of under par. For me this isn't really a song that you can even sing to tbh because of the constant change in tempo vocally as the lead singer Brandon Boyd switches from spoken word to singing and back. I like some of the stuff the band has done but as I am not a die hard fan, I prefer their stuff from Make Yourself much better. One interesting thing I have learned here that I didn't know before is what the band's name actually means and it's more graphic than I ever took the band for. For those of you that don't know an Incubus is a demon that goes around having sex with women who are asleep. Pretty dark tbh.

This song isn't too bad but fails in a couple ways. Lyrically for example, there is no substance since they pretty much repeat the same thing over and over and over and over. Plus I never understood songs that used spelling out something to avoid actually rhyming. It's got an ok beat but even that is on a short repetitious loop for the whole song. Interesting though that I thought I had never heard this song before but according to the wiki it is featured in the game Thrillville which I own but never really sat down to play completely. The band has had a few hiccups since it started in 2001 replacing out one or two of the band members a couple times. Eventually in 2012 though the band was at it's end as the lead singer Chantal Claret left the band to go solo.

The beat is decent and vocals are ok. The first song to drop in the Punk genre (just Punk without any variation) that is. It could be the age in which the song was released but I couldn't find much of a following for this band. Maybe the real fans aren't too internet saavy? This isn't really a song that I would add to any playlist but I might not change the station if I happen to hear it on the radio. I did see this get classified somewhere as an "Oldies" song so that might back up the claim I make about it's fans not hanging around on the internet.lol

Lol. So I was completing the write-up for this song and noticed that I didn't have it tagged as a nomination but thought it sounded like something Snake would have nominated so I double checked and indeed I forgot to tag it as one of his nominations. I'm not the biggest fan of Industrial Metal but the right songs can make me feel like a diehard and unfortunately this isn't one of them. I think the name of the album here is kinda funny though. This song tanked on the charts.. but that isn't completely terrible I suppose as it did actually make it on the charts at least.

Write-Up:
So after multiple listens I am decidedly fixed on the chorus here and the chorus alone. Although it isn't too deep lyrically it has a catchy ring to it. "Death or Gloryeee...". It's weird though because I have almost certainly heard of the band before but I was checking out some of their other work and I couldn't even find a song that I recognized. It doesn't appear that they received too much mainstream success but there is a dedicated following for the band. The song itself speaks about the previous generation of rock stars who were commonly quoted as swearing to die before aging so maybe the whole song is about aging? One critic claims that "this song features the best and most satisfying chord progression and melody the Clash ever came up with" but I wouldn't know if there was any truth to that. What are your thoughts on that Snake?

Write-Up:
The 3rd Taylor Swift song to crash and burn before the Top 1,000 here and unfortunately another of your nominations Snake. There are actually a few of Taylor Swift's songs that I like tbh and fortunately they were selected for the ranking so you'll get to see those further up the list. I don't think I've really heard this one all that much though. It seems a bit different than the hits she usually turns out in the way that the rhythm is a bit more inconsistent here and I don't find a part of the song that gets stuck in my head like usual. There were pieces of White Horse that I even found catchy but I'm not getting that here which is interesting since I've already dropped White Horse awhile ago.

And with this song, all of your 90's picks are down Snake. I think that leaves you with 4 or 5 nominations left which sort of puzzles my original expectations for your nominations. I honestly thought you'd have a bunch of noms I liked but as it turns out our interests aren't exactly as similar as I thought they might be. This is our first trip into Sludge Metal though and it isn't a terrible example considering. It does kind of feel slightly unpolished but it's hard to tell since the instrumentation is supposed to be edgy and sharp. The main guitar riff is pretty kick a** but it isn't enough to carry this higher unfortunately.

Write-Up:
Another tune from the 80's here but not one of my favorites. I honestly never really got much into Huey Luis and the News. I don't think I even had a single cassette in the hundreds that I owned growing up. It does remind me of when I used to search through the collection at my local pawn shop as a teenager back when I was collecting cassettes. There were almost always 15 to 20 from these guys but like I said I was never enticed into buying one. The sound of the 80's is pretty unmistakable here but I really feel like this is more akin to movie background music in the 80's like maybe something you would always hear in films like Beverly Hills Cop and such. This unfortunately drops you down to just 3 nominations left Snake and your 80's selections are through.

So... I kinda feel bad for you Snake since you are running out of nominations fast (down to 2 left atm). You picked a genre that I like here but it loses some points because I've never heard it before this ranking even though I thought I did. The vocalist sounds like another prominent Pop Punk singer that I can't quite put my finger on atm. I don't think they are the same person because I can't find any info about Taylor Eby (the lead vocalist) for Handguns as far as being in another band. He definitely sounds like another popular Pop Punk vocalist though. The band has the same energy you'd get if Sum-41 and Simple Plan had a baby imo. I do like this song but I don't think it was even Handguns best song based on my research. The band has gone through a few members over the years and more recently re-united most of the original members for their newest album. This album was released digitally through Pure Noise records and can still be found on their site.

Oh man. Always a terrible coincidence in these rankings Snake and I'm sorry dude but... shortly after you posted I cringed knowing that this was coming. I don't know what it is but every time I post notifications or rally for support in one of my rankings, I always have to let down one of the few to actually respond as their items sit and wait on the immediate chopping block. (It's not just my rankings as I've seen this happen in many rankings. It's kind of a phenomenon though isn't it?) Anyway yeah... this sucks for you Snake as you fall to 1 remaining nomination. It isn't any secret by now for anyone that has paid attention to my Metallica commentary that I really don't have much of a preference for anything post-Newsted. Call me crazy but the band just is not the same creatively. I totally get that the band wanted to return to it's Thrash Metal roots but compared to the old stuff this just doesn't compare imo. One of the biggest changes I feel are that the old songs are almost poetic lyrically and the new stuff is just nonsensical raging/shredding imo. Where are all the great riffs that they used to create?

Aww man... total bummer Snake.

Ok... so I gotta get corny for a minute here since we are faced with a Celine Dion song. Not really a fan but she did put out a couple of hits that inevitably landed on some Top music lists. This song exploded on the radio in late 1999. A few years later in 2003 I specifically heard it one day at a job I hated during a time I was severely lonely and depressed. It didn't inspire me per se, but it did kind of make me give up on feeling like I needed to be with someone. I truly had given up on the prospect of finding someone. Funny thing though is not even 2 months later comes along and I get hit up by some stranger on the internet for a random conversation and that person is still my wife today.

Write-Up:
This is probably where I start to appreciate David Bowie. I got hooked on this song when Guitar Hero was released and played it until I couldn't stand it anymore. I really loved the main riff for some reason but what I thought was really cool was that it is the meat and potatoes of the Ziggy Stardust story. It's a confusing story and most assuredly a drug induced one at that but you gotta admire Bowie's attempt to create a universe behind the music. I've never actually listened to the entire Ziggy Stardust saga but it's definitely on my to do list.

Oh god I love to hate this song. It is pretty stellar on the surface but when you dig down and realize how simple it is in composition it can be annoying that you gave it more credit than it deserves for creativity. That's if you're a weirdly quirked up guy like me that is but I guess that's the real beauty of the song isn't it? Whatever it is, I once appreciated this song until I didn't. I heard it way too much on transport with my clients that year and it was always a pain because it would get them bouncing and moving around so much that simple transportation became a risk. The annoyance factor went up for me whenever I hear this song as a result.lol
