I just noticed Aladdin is a 6 seed. Doesn't Aladdin usually win these things?

Yeah, Aladdin's won the last few tournaments but it didn't do very well in nominations. The same thing (championships aside) happened with Toy Story getting a 7 seed and TS3 getting an 11 seed. I have no idea why so many strong movies are so underseeded this year.

Monsters Inc is a very good movie, might be my second fave Pixar film

LEGO Movie is alright, LEGO Movie 2 really helped highlight some of its shortcomings I think. It's self aware and that's pretty funny but that doesn't elevate it to the status of an all-time cinematic classic, which is backed up by the middling performance of 2 in theaters.

LEGO Movie is amazing. LEGO Movie 2's weaker performance can easily be attributed to LEGO burnout, as we had LEGO Batman and LEGO Ninjago...neither of which lit my world on fire.

I've always thought Monsters Inc. is really underrated among Pixar films. It gets overlooked because Pixar was just known as "the Toy Story guys" back then, but I'd rank it as their second best film. It's one of the only Pixar movie where I really love both the humor and the emotional stuff. I like Lego Movie alright, but it's not even close.

Oh I'm not disparaging Monsters, but I do think LEGO Movie has a lot to say; the sorts of things that resonate deep and press questions in your mind long after the credits. Both of these movies wear their heart on their sleeves, but LEGO is more personal.
