We're making a giant mod for TEW 2020 (because we're not gonna finish while 2016 is still relevant), crossing over tons of both real-world wrestlers and fictional characters. It's been a few years in the making, and...might be a few more. We can always use more help for fandoms we don't follow, or pics and bios, or...just talk to us we're lonely.

Doesn't seem much point in trying to come up with a timetable right now since that is heavily reliant on A) you guys and B) when 2020 drops and how much work that will create, but I think fall 2020 is a reasonable estimate for finishing this maybe. We can knock out detaily stuff between now and 2020 release, then y'all finish cosmetics while I get the new game figured out. I'm working on cosmetics while I wait for y'all to get detailing done. I think CPU is up currently but y'all can do cosmetics even if it's not your turn.

Just a case of everybody getting slammed at the same time mostly I think. I could get pissy about it but it's not really fair to expect everybody to conform to my expectations of myself.

2020 is a ways off yet- I wanna say like December? It seems like a lot of stuff is getting overhauled- I don't know how much new mechanical stuff we're gonna have to go back and fill in or adjust, but I have a feeling we're going to want to playtest thoroughly because even basic stuff like company size is getting rebooted. ...IIRC India's now a thing too, so there's a good chance we're gonna re-sort what companies are where and @_@

Wheel of Time cosmetics DONE. I think tomorrow I'll start a UCA thread and I also have a more-fun-than-productive sim to run overnight, and then Tue-Sat the idea is to knock out Dangan Ronpa (I wound up spoiling myself on the rest of v3, so I can touch that up and take over that unless CPU is particularly attached)

Sim I will run overnight is gonna just be with a bunch of cheat codes input. (you can use empleh to see the whole list) I remember there being one that would remove all worker contracts but it doesn't seem to be in 2016. This run will have

#8: Areas and regions

I've been asked to provide a breakdown of the areas and regions of the game world, so that will be today's entry.

USA: Great Lakes, Mid Atlantic, Mid South, Mid West, New England, North West, South East, South West, Tri State, Puerto Rico, Hawaii

Canada: The Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia

Mexico: Occidente, Centro, Sur, Sureste, Noroccidente, Noreste

British Isles: Wales, Ireland, Southern England, Scotland, Northern England, Midlands

Japan: Hokkaido, Kyushu, Shikoku, Chugoku, Kansai, Chubu, Kanto, Tohoku

Europe: Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Central Europe, Southern Europe, Southern Mediterranean, Iberia, Northern Europe, Russia

So, you have an expanded Mexico, Wales coming in, Europe getting reorganised, and India debuting.

As a reminder, currently we think of the areas as a loop:
US: Classic Wrestling (Attitude and earlier)
CAN: Modern wrestling and cartoons
UK: Classic gaming (2000ish and earlier?)
EU: Internet and comics
AUS: Modern gaming
JPN: Anime/manga/VNs/assorted weebery

If you have pop in one area, you get pop equal to a letter grade lower in the "neighboring" areas, two letters lower in the ones two away, and so on. Exceptions are made for people or companies that have ties to multiple areas (IE wrestlers that crossover between eras, or an American character from an anime)

We have a few options, I imagine.

Option #1: Ignore India. The quick path, but also the lazy path. We can just tell people to turn India off. Will still probably want to shuffle some companies around in the redesigned areas, at least.

Option #2: "Minor" overhaul. Something like moving cartoons and comics to India and calling it a day.

Option #3: Major overhaul. Something like....
US: Classic wrestling
CAN: Modern wrestling
UK: Classic gaming
EU: Modern gaming
IND: Internet
OC (AUS): Comics+Cartoons
JPN: Weeb stuff
MEX: Misc.
or if somebody else has a better idea. My logic is "Internet" is kinda small so it can go in the small area, and comics and cartoons probably make a bit more sense together than with internet and modern wrestling, respectively. And then you get gaming together (although it kinda throws off the Character Battle concept a bit having it next to Modern instead of between both)

Option #4: If you have other ideas or long-standing gripes with how we do any of that, now would be a good time to bring them up as I've got some amount of major changes to implement whatever route we go.

It'll probably take a month or two of extra work on my end if we make any changes at all- will wanna go through the whole db and update everybody's pop and languages and stuff. But eh, in for a penny.

My immediate thought is some variation of Option 2 whichever our biggest category is and split it in half and move them to the closest run off region. So if it is Japan, move half of Japan to the closest run off district and us and move the spot it is replacing to India.

EDIT: Actually, that would work very well if you make India between UK and EU because they you have modern gaming in India between Classic Gaming and internet. With Old Japan broken between OC and Japan.

I feel like screwing around, so I'm starting up a backyard game with the current iteration of the mod just to see how it goes. I WAS going to do a 7-player game with a backyard fed in each Area, but then I messed up the file and really that would've died quickly anyway. Updates here whenever I feel like playing, which may be today and never again <_> One thing that I noticed is that quite a lot of people I forgot to base where they're supposed to be, so US has a buncha randos it shouldn't have (but they aren't eligible to work there >_>)
