I bailed on that ship sometime after regular Xander was added. It was terrible through and through. Rates were terrible. Getting units fully maxed out with optimal inheritance skills and such was the worst fucking shit I've ever put myself through.

Not looking to get into a huge argument about people who like to play it but it's just not for me. There's others out there that are far better, even for the PVP aspect.

I played it from launch up until last December. I enjoyed the game for what it was, and besides whaling for one single character I loved (I dropped $30 to get Myrrh) I was pretty much purely F2P. The dupes needed to max characters out and the pulls needed for optimal skill inheritance were annoying, but they didn't bother me too much because I never got too deep into the high-ranking Arena and Aether Raids. I'd likely still be playing today if it wasn't for one single problem: way, way, way, WAY too much favoritism towards Awakening and Fates characters.

It was around the time that they added a fifth fucking Azura to the game that I finally gave up all hope that the Awakening/Fates favoritism would ever stop. I simply accepted the fact that many of my favorite characters from the older FE games would never see the light of day and that IS would just keep giving alternate versions to the popular characters from those two games. I uninstalled the game and haven't looked back since.

I haven't played any other gacha games so I can't compare rates, but I'm a F2Player, to the point of avoiding the BK meal, and have been able to fully merge 3 5* exclusive units. It does take planning and dedication to saving, at least 6 months which means you'll fall behind in resources compared to your other player brethren. But when your time comes, you can leap frog infront of them depending on who you roll for. I aimed for a fully merged alt of F!Corrin from a single banner and ended up picking up Surtr, probably one of the most broken units in the game, as a bonus.

And speaking of which, the Fates/Awakening favoritism is never gonna end. We're going to be getting our 7th Camilla around August (she won CYL3) and we just got yet another alt of F!Corrin, a Fallen evil version making up a total of 4 F!Corrins in the game, though she's implemented in such a way that it appears they wanted any excuse to replace the original launch version as she felt a bit out of place from the other units (Mareeta, Tiki, Berkut) on the banner. I will say they've been especially good to Tellius fans recently with the addition of Laguz (with beast units from Fates/Awakening following them) and the Laguz units are REALLY FUGGIN STRONG. They did them justice.

So I'd throw it out there that you can compete with whales without spending a dime. But you gotta know how to really play the game, like live and breathe the game. I'm on the Android board basically 25/8 and am always checking out people's strategies in Aether Raids. I suppose it's good to see others' perspective since I'm a total gung-ho for the game and again, I have no clue what other gacha games do.

Yeah the event has been running for an entire month at this point though. A lot of people started around the first week of collab and seemingly has at least 3 copies of Sol, who's given away for free and is an insanely great unit despite being free.

Considering the game isn't even a year old yet, an entire month is pretty hard to miss.

As for the fb event, I had no clue it was even going on. Just logged in one day and got it >.>

Just a heads up (or reminder for those who I may have already mentioned this to before) for Revue Starlight ReLIVE players: unless you really want a specific stage girl, generally you want to save your star gems for limited units and Kirameki Fes events. That Winged Tengu Ichie that was just added is pretty good, but she's permanently in the gacha pool going forward. If you really want her specifically, then you'd pull for her now because the banner has a rate-up specifically for her. But if you just want good 4* stage girls in general, wait until the first KiraFes.

Limited stage girls that don't go into the permanent gacha pool mostly come from seasonal events (Halloween, Christmas, New Years, etc.) and KiraFes events. KiraFes events are where the gacha rates for 4* stage girls are doubled if you pull from the KiraFes banner, so they're the best time to pull if you just want 4* stage girls in general, and each one also has a limited unit that is not in the permanent pool.

Here's a spreadsheet that lists all of the events that the JP version has had so far and details which stage girls added are limited or permanently added to the pool. Generally, it looks like EN will follow the same order when it comes to events, but some of the non-event gacha additions (like Heracles Michiru, who was added to EN quite a bit sooner than she was in JP) may come at different times. Use this to determine what you want to save your star gems for in the future, whether it's a KiraFes event or a new version of your favorite stage girl.

So been trying out stuff, since it works now for some reason, i could play fire emblem heroes on Nox, game seems pretty simple compared to an actual FE game, also rerolled a bit and settled with Loki and Nailah.

Also trying out Epic 7, so far I've learned one thing and its how badly this game relays information about the features it has... i rerolled for quite some time, meaning i did the tutorial a lot, and not a single time it mentions you can add more units to your team, i was wondering why a tutorial was so hard to clear when you just have your shitty base unit and an NPC...

Bridal Banner coming up for FEHeroes tomorrow. They're introducing a few new skills that will be insanely powerful in Aether Raids. One of them is Ground Orders. A big dominant defense archetype is a flier ball, where there are a bunch of fliers all using Flier Formation, this makes their AI more tricky to predict and ends up destroying players who haven't done their research on AI manipulation. Ground Orders gives every other archetype the same ability to move to an adjacent spot to any ally within 2 spaces.

Then there's Pulse Smoke, which tacks on an extra charge to an enemy and its allies within 2 spaces. Another big meta archetype is Infantry Pulse, where infantry units get a -1 to their special cooldown on their first turn. People use this (me included) to give several units a full charge to their specials to go obliterate their enemy on the first turn using AI manipulation for Rally Guidance traps.

There's a lot of interesting strategies going on, but you have to be really into FEH to reach where their dominate. Just felt like throwing this out there.

It also looks as though Gala Ranzal ended up being kind of a crappy character. He's almost never used in HMC.

The only Gala character I'd like is Sarisse. I also just like the 5* boost, since some teams are way more lacking than others, especially in dragons.

Sometimes I question if I should just drop gacha entirely lol. It's just so addicting and Dragalia has its own charm I really like.

I've taken to games that are not reliant on gacha and I'm enjoying them a lot. Gacha is fun when you're lucky and really disappointing when you're not.

El Chronicle has a silly little gacha thing for equipment but it feels really out of place considering all the high end equipment is something that you can either craft straight up or buy straight up with money.

It's like there's a gacha in addition to a cash shop that has everything the gacha has but without the randomness. As a result, I rarely ever feel the need to make random draws. I do feel the need to spend money (haven't yet, however) but the things I would spend money on are deterministic. If I buy 1800 hero pieces, I don't get random ones, I pick the hero I want. If I buy a piece of armor, I get to pick exactly what options I want on it. If I buy crafting materials, I get exactly what it says on the tin, nothing more or less.

It's pretty tempting to buy some of the packages especially considering the game is actually kind of fun but I know I'll be left with this hollow feeling when it's all used up.

Like, I've been progressing at this slow and steady rate, then to get a boost for a little bit would be this huge rush then I'm back down to snail pace that I'm at now and I'll feel bored and/or hooked on buying more packages to maintain the accellerated rate that I have.

I haven't spent anything on gacha, but it feels like a "yet." And then where would I be? I fear that I'd have that personality that, once I bit the bullet once, it's downhill for me. And there's so many other things I want to do in my spare time, especially read a lot more, and how much time have I spent doing gacha? Hundreds, I know, and tbh I wouldn't want to know the exact number lol.

It's like on a reasonable level I can recognize that I'm not getting all that much from the game(s) and I've grown to treat them as an obligation I enjoy sometimes more than anything else. I don't get from them what I get from my other hobbies. But then I try to explain it away anyway on why I should keep playing and it's like, this is probably addiction.

The Aladdin event is officially underway in Revue Starlight ReLIVE, focusing on the stage girls of Seisho Music Academy. The prize for grinding the event is the Genie of the Lamp, Maya, while the 4-star gacha pull for the event is the Aladdin of our story, Claudine.




The boss is of the Cloud attribute, therefore it's weak to Space attribute attacks from characters such as Sun General Maya (who can tank pretty much everything the boss can throw at her), Black Knight Hikari, Ghost Patrol Rui, as well as the two event girls themselves. In addition to this, the boss resists Moon attribute attackers, so this is unfortunately one of the few events where the ultimate boss killer, Phantom Nana, will be of little use.

Remember: Aladdin Claudine will remain a permanent part of the gacha pool even beyond the event, but Genie Maya and her potential bloom crystals can only be acquired during this event! So if you plan on using her and maxing her out, get your event memoirs and get to grinding!

They're both in the "good but not really spectacular" category. Maya can be a useful disabler thanks to a 3AP that breaks barriers and a Climax that can stun multiple enemies, while Claudine's 3AP and Climax lower both of the defenses of the enemies she hits. Their attacking stats aren't amazing though, and neither of them hit the full enemy team with their Climax Arts.

Also, a lot of people want Maya to step on them in a lewd way. Not important, but still interesting.

Ever since it came out, Girls' Frontline has been my most played and the one that I would most recommend. The story and character designs are great, the gameplay is unique and strategic, and the actual gacha aspect is much more forgiving than most other gacha games. It's more accessible to players who would rather not spend very much money on a game, since it's much less "pay-to-win" and more like "pay-to-get-things-done-faster-or-easier". There's no PvP (only various leaderboards, plus some events that give an extra reward for ranking high) and all but the most difficult battles in the story can be done with teams made up of your favorites rather than the best or rarest characters as long as you plan things right.

If you've seen and enjoyed the anime that it's based on, Revue Starlight ReLIVE is excellent as well. And if you haven't seen the Revue Starlight anime, go watch it because it's really good, then try out the game. The game itself has some fun battles, enjoyable characters, beautiful designs and costumes, and a unique theme built around various stage plays and stories. On top of that, the gameplay elements (besides the gacha pull rate being a bit low) are great too. Easy to raise/max characters, infinite skips of chapters you've completed with three stars for easy grinding, and events that can be completed without needing to pull the latest 4* character (though it helps a lot). Besides the optional PvP (which gets meta-heavy in higher ranks) pretty much everything in the game can be done with teams made up of your favorites rather than the best or rarest characters as long as you choose your moves well.

Everyone hits a wall there. There are some of pieces that aren't farmable normally. Besides the "attribute orb" pieces being sold in the special shop in exchange for creation jewels (AKA the items you get when you get a duplicate stage girl in the gacha) these types of orbs can only be obtained in events and other various places besides normal grinding. I found this post on the subreddit that details these orbs and the various places you can find them.
