sad to see my bias go, but at least we have closure after 8 months of it being up in the air. now she could re-debut, sing all the OSTs.

I am back to discuss one of the 5-10 kpop acts I remotely care about

I have listened to all the new AOA stuff.

New Moon is a very strong comeback compared to Bingle Bangle, which I thought was terrible except for Seolhyun looking amazing and the side track Heat being fantastic.

Come See Me is the weakest song they have on the comeback and I'm not sure why they decided to make it the title track, although it's not bad exactly. In terms of their look for the comeback/MV, everyone looks really good except Jimin. Yuna and Chanmi are exceptionally stunning.

Sorry is absolutely a fantastic kpop single and I'm greatly enjoying it. I heard all the other Queendom final songs too - Guerilla is the only one that really competes with Sorry.

Magic Spell is interesting. A friend of mine that also listens to kpop said they sounded like Blackpink here. I like it more than anything I've ever heard by Blackpink. It's not AOA's best song, but it is good. The hook line is simple but pretty sexy, can't lie. Incredibly strong rhythm and drive and interesting harmonies.

Ninety Nine has a really good bass line. I like this song. Not much else to say other than it's really solid.

My Way on first listen was my favorite song from New Moon, but after listening some more, I'm not sure. It's pretty cool and I really like the production, but the lyrics don't 100% click with me. The bass line on this song is just as good as Ninety Nine. It's a pretty good song I suppose, but not as good as I thought at first.

Also, I'm excited for new Yerin Baek material this month. She's still got hands down the best Korean release of the year IMO, Our Love Is Great. Since then, her cover of Suddenly (I think it's called the Digging Club Seoul version) was fantastic. Looking forward to enjoying the new stuff.

Mamamoo's Hip sucks IMO and I miss the old Mamamoo by this point, they haven't had a single that thoroughly impressed me since Starry Night (best side track since then was the Hwasa solo, Be Calm). Their identity is so different now that it's hardly the same group.

New Crush album is okay. Not great, but an enjoyable listen.

Yerin released the new album and I am happy. She's such a star.

The album, on first listen, is a little bloated with downtempo songs, and the pace is a little slow. However, none of that matters. The highlights on this album are so damn good. Rest, Popo, 0310, and ESPECIALLY SQUARE are so good that they could be on their own and make another top 5 release of the year. Lots of good songs in between those too, it's just that those stand out the most to me.

Square and Our Love Is Great are the two best Korean songs of the year. No question IMO. Square just gets better the more I listen to it, and I already loved the live takes. So grateful to have this song finally.

Lots of good songs in between the 4 big highlights, of course. I remember Mr. Gloomy, Bunny, and Datoom being pretty great, and lots of other songs being good but I've only heard them once so I don't remember much (I listened while studying for my last final exam of the semester).

I want to listen to Yerin's voice forever. It's so good.
