Imo you're not really gaining much with a pgo over a stock with a grip, or even a traditional stock. Once you're in stance and have the stock planted it's essentially the same. But now you have a third contact point to help with followups, or recoil in general. Defense loads can pack quite a whack.

Yeah this whole argument started because I was saying pistol grips are doable, not ideal. My pistol grip is actually collecting dust right now because I'm currently using buttstock, but I never had a problem with the recoil (maybe it's because I'm a pretty big dude) My house isn't huge (I live in the bay area) so there would never be a situation where I was more than 10 yards from an intruder due to the layout of the house.

That's a strong post. I think you and I have talked about that 1887 before. The 97 is looking good too, I've debated buying one for SASS but the guys I talk to all complain about how hard it is to keep them running when you shoot them hard. My friend just bought a Vepr last week, paid a ridiculous post-import price for it but I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

My SASS shotgun: Cimarron 1883

16sQgl2

Defensive: Remington 870

Alright, that tears it, after taking the A1 out I'm grabbing that SGA.

Dunno if I should do a full magpul and get the handguard too though.

Shop around to see if you can get a good deal on them some places offer discounts at certain times like Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc so look to see who offers you the lowest price.
