I dunno, Metroid Fusion was alright with it's story I thought.

It's not like Metroid doesn't have the lore to make something work. Whether they delve into chozo stuff and/or federation stuff. They could dive into Samus's childhood, federation days, her start as a bounty hunter, etc.

Not saying I necessarily want a Metroid movie, but Metroid could have narrative I think, it just needs to be handled well.
