I have a "win 3 raid" task that I've been sitting on and apparently electabuzz is a 2 tier raid now (11k, easy peasy). Did one on my way home and apparently there was another player around. I didn't see anyone I could confirm was playing, though people were in the area, including a teenage bipolar girl having a meltdown and getting carted off in an ambulance... Still, I was pleasantly surprised that my ground Rhydon stayed alive throughout the entire battle and I got 12 (pinap) candies for the electabuzz instead of 6, as my evolved one isn't fully powered up.

Had a good few days myself. Finally got a shiny Cresselia after 45 raids on my main account. For my first ever lucky friend... myself! Traded Raikous across accounts and my main ended up with a 100%iv one. Also went lucky friends with someone else not long after. And managed to catch a shiny Aron and shiny Misdreavus on my second account.

I did an electabuzz raid yesterday and it was easy. Some other player was there but I didn't see anyone playing so maybe a spoofer? In any case I didn't end up needing more than 1 pokemon to win. I don't get to raid much and I have a "win 5 raids" task for a charge tm and I'm 3/5 on it now. I also got 12 candies which is nice because I haven't powered up my electivire all the way yet.

Also some apparently bipolar (maybe among other things) kid or teenager had some kind of meltdown at the park I was at. There was a cop and eventually an ambulance had to take the kid away. I got to see that unfold as I was raiding. Some older lady who knew the kid was talking about lithium which is why I think the kid was at least bipolar. I didn't hear what exactly the meltdown was about though. No pokemon go though I don't think because it was on the other end of the park where they would have been too far from the actual gym.

Oof. Since research ones never flee, I always spam pinap berries for double candies. The double for the spark raikou research event also applies. So that's double double, or 12 candies.

Not that it's worth leveling a research one as they come at level 15. But still, helpful tip for the future.

I'm still salty about that fucking Breloom.

Look up a YouTube vid on ring locking or whatever term it is. Basically, you hold the ball til the circle is in great or excellent size, then wait til they use their taunt animation, and as they finish it you do a curve ball throw so it'll land in the ring. It's time consuming but a nice method for increasing your catch rate of raid Pokemon.

Lugia, ho-oh and soon groudon and Kyogre from weekly research are definitely worth doing it for, since they're extremely good.

Groudon and Kyogre? Absolutely. For the stuff in breakthroughs this month, I wouldn't say Pinap'ing is important. Ho-Oh and Latias aren't useful. Lugia and Latios can be, but mainly only for PVP (which most aren't really into) and soloing Machamp (which can be done just as or more effectively and much more cheaply with Alakazam+Espeon). Latios is also a good Dragon type but outclassed by a few others (though they're all also legendaries or pretty rare).

I just want my shiny Lugia. Missed out on the first year of raids, never got it when it came back for a weekend last year or since they put it in the Research Box after the holidays.

Meaning both had perfect attack IVs. And double candy for catching them would have made life easier since I'd have had 12 towards the 98.

Fuck. I better get a shiny raikou next week, gonna actually rush around during the time before my shift starts to get one. Especially annoying is the fact that I know at least 2 of the t5s that'll spawn near me during that time will still be Kyogre anyways.

Some apps can calculate IVs on the catch screen. Certain CP numbers correlate to specific IV values and percentages, so you can tell roughly what IV it is by comparing how close it is to the max CP obtainable.

For example, Kyogre at lv20 with perfect IVs (15/15/15) is 2351 CP

Kyogre at lv20 with the worst obtainable IVs (10/10/10) is 2260 CP

For raids, there's charts of all (or at least, most) cp combinations. You can always look up the perfect cp for raid things since data miners get the info when new Pokemon enter the game. For some of these you can even look up "(legendary) cp chart" and it'll show the breakdown of it.

I have 2 of those (1 shiny) but I haven't used them. A handful of exeggutors are my Grass army still, lol. Never ended up making a Leafeon though I really need to one of these days. You were right about Alola exeggutors too. They are great for easy raids to work on Dragon badge (I'm still Silver and I've been playing since 10 days after the release or so) but wtf... I feel like every time they to swat the ball away, they should be killing my avatar like that one scene in Final Destination 3 toward the end.
