What result were you hoping for?

Agree that a false positive is rare. The cheap test may be more sensitive. But there is such a thing as an evaporation line that can show up if you wait too long to read the test.

You know, I thought the same thing until it happened. My wife took a digital test (this was one of those Clearblue ones that cost like $20) that either say PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT on the screen. Says PREGNANT. Few days later, goes to the OB and takes a test, comes back negative.

Scariest week of my life.

She's a week out from when she expects Aunt Flo? Then, yeah, a test might not pick up the hormone that early. If the faint positive test was accurate, the line will only get darker as time passes. I don't really know much about the digital kind. I just used the old-fashioned pink lines.

Cheap Dollar Store tests work just as well as more expensive brands. Stock up. :-)
