John Naisbitt, 78, is accused of refusing to stop his bus after the doors caught on the 14-year-old boy's backpack, dragging him down the street. CNN reports Naisbitt has been accused of abusing biracial students in the past, but he claims he's not racist. "Not at all. Look at my dog. He's as black as can be," he told reporters. Naisbitt claims he did not see the boy and he would have stopped if he had noticed he was stuck. But the boy's mother, Brenda Mayes, is upset and has launched a civil rights lawsuit, claiming her son was targeted due to his skin colour. "I was glad he didn't kill him. I was glad he didn't go under the wheels," she told CNN. Naisbitt has now retired from the role. A spokesperson for the school district that employed him said the incident was being investigated. "When issues of discrimination are raised at any time, they are investigated thoroughly. Anyway, if they think he legit tried to intentionally drag this kid down the road that's attempted murder...no? Why just a civil rights lawsuit? That comes across like the family is just trying to make some quick cash. Though if he actually did try to murder a child then he deserves to die. That's a horrible thing to do.
