LtM thinks because of anime law it's over next week because those .5 episodes counted towards the 39 count and they're gonna cut the epilogue and rush through the remaining 11 chapters next week

Nah. Netflix actually provides a good service unlike the Epic Games Store. In addition, Netflix also basically Kickstarted the whole massive streaming service to replace cable thing.

Yes. The Anime they do get often have kickass and quality dubs. And they do somewhat advertise them. They are fucking bombarding my main page with Kakegurui shit. In addition, Netflix does fund original Anime for their service, such as Devilman Crybaby.

And as was also said, no matter what Netflix did with Eva, people would be pissed and complain.

Then the comparison really falls apart at that Netflix isn't an Anime service. Netflix is a media giant and Anime is a very small part of what they offer. They offer a shitton of TV and movies across all genres. And they're damn good at what they do. If Netflix was a purely Anime service, then you'd be closer.

Yeah, and that sucks and all. But a comparison to Epic Goddamn Games shitty Store based on one small window of what Netflix does isn't fair to Netflix with what all they do.

Complain about the Netflix Anime all you want, in fact I'd say it's well worth and deserved complaints. It's the only way they'll see what people don't like and learn how to do better. But don't condemn the entire service over something as small as Anime.

As the official number one B8A Netflix hateboner user, the EGS situation is probably still worse. Probably.

Last I checked though regarding dubs, Netflix doesn't actually do them. They get the license, and tell the provider to handle setting up the dub themselves. That's what happened with AICO, which had one of the worst dubs ever created, and ended up being completely redone as a result.

This may have actually changed recently as a direct result of the AICO fiasco, I don't know of it was Netflix that handled the redub themselves, and it would make sense of that resulted in a policy shift. They're so tight knit it's hard to say though.

Sadly though I don't actually expect the anime situation with Netflix to get any better. As much as it effects us, I think the actual Netflix company itself considered anime to be just a gimmick corner of their service, as is implied by 90% of the anime releases getting no marketing, not even a pitty tweet, and being sent out to die and be forgotten with no fanfare. Occasionally the NX Twitter account will send a tweet or two, but never the real one.

Well gues what when they decided to throw their hat in the ring and started scooping up anime licenses they put themselves out there for the criticism as well, I don't think they should be able to hide under "oh but they do EVERYTHING so it's not fair". I am judging them right now based solely on their anime, not on their other stuff. Hence why I said "of anime" and not of general streaming. I made the comparison of them throwing money to get anime license solely so they can say "LOOK GUYS SEE WE HAVE ANIME TOO" without caring about it once they have it on there, which I think is somewhat similar to Epic's throwing money at game exclusives and having an incomplete store.

And by "service" for Netflix that's where the whole "not caring about the anime once it's on there" aspect comes in, even if Netflix itself is much better designed than Epic Games Store.

Yeah, in that sense it's quite similar. EGS is still worse because if the retroactive stealing. Imagine if it was 3 days before Vinland Saga hit Crunchy after already advertising it was going to be there, Netflix announced they had purchased the rights away.

Although in a comparable issue, at least with EGS we don't have situations where we only find out the game is an exclusive THE DAY OF RELEASE, unlike what often happens with seasonal anime Netflix scoops up.

I dunno. Maybe not in the near future, but they did experiment with Simulcasting the past. And some of their competitors give anime more love, like Hulu for example. So while I don't see them changing how they do anime any time soon, but I see it somewhere down the line. Anime is getting bigger in the states, and as other streaming services, such as Hulu, treat their anime better, Netflix is gonna have to change it. At least their licenses. The actual original shit they fund and get made is fine as is and still good shit. And still will be down the line.

I didn't watch Sword Gai, the setting and plot line weren't really interesting to me. B was kickass tho, didn't know it was getting a season 2, so that's p hype.
