Faster progression, better rewards, removal of trackers and badges from the battle pass, daily and weekly challenges, more earned skins and legendaries, and 3 entirely new categories of rewards to earn. All sounds like good stuff. More info at EA Play.

No idea what the new categories could be. More cosmetic options?

the free level up for top 5 finishes every day has been very helpful

I gained 6 levels yesterday playing mostly 2 man matches, so we only won once.

LOTS of 2nd place finishes though, like 10+, it was rough.

For the second time I won a game due to opponents dying in the ring. This time my squad died and quit immediately, I only saw one enemy player, and I was decked out in golds from supply drops. No kills, no damage.

I had a game like that. Me and my team of randoms kept running towards gunfire but only found death boxes until the last ring where we were just crowned champs.

in the Elite queue, the ring now does a shit ton of damage. you have like 5 seconds tops to get out of a level 1 rings , and less for stronger rings. so you really need to not futz around

I dont know if I'd call it throwing. Selfish? Yea. Stupid? Sure. A waste of time? Most definitely. Arrogant? Absolutely. Thing is if you're actually good enough to solo drop and win a populated area more often than not, it doesn't matter where you drop so you're better off dropping with your team anyway.

I wouldn't call it throwing unless they're just running around stocking up on level 1 scopes to leave a cute deathbox, or landing in the ocean. I'd also say, if you're dropping hot and someone doesn't want to go with you, you guys should be on the mic discussing or at least using pings.

If I'm on an elite streak, I find myself breaking off of my group when they make bad decisions. I'll ping where we need to be. In regular Apex, it's ride-or-die (with some exceptions of course - I'm not here to protect someone's loot FOMO)

Last night, I had a jump master relinquish SPECIFICALLY so they could jump alone.

It's started. Overall good, though a big problem where the new battle pass level system is EXCLUSIVELY based on challenges, meaning every second not spent alive is wasting time not earning points, meaning quitting...seems like the smarter choice to level up faster...

Also, there are situations where you get way more experiencing jumping away from your allies to do some challenge, like opening 10 bins in airbase, and quitting immediately, then you would get for playing an winning and entire match.

...launching this without raising the level cap was a big mistake. There's absolutely zero incentive to actually play the game versus cheesing challenges...

Wooooh yeah about half the matches have people splitting now. Some of these challenges are literally a full level just for landing in a certain area, so why wouldn't you split? They're going to have to do something abiut this. Raising the cap would solve it easy.

There is no reason not to quit if you don't feel like you can earn more challenges if you left than you continued.

Ah, so there is actually an EXP for the Battlepass, it's just not made as obvious. You also get WAYYYYYYY more for the challenges than playing.

the hop-ups for the 2020 and the Mozambique make me laugh.

having a hop-up for the 45 is kinda nice, that gun is actually kinda low key decent

seeing these electrified fences everywhere is annoying

I hate to get all sorts of changes and not be able to enjoy pretty much any of them... but that sorta feels like what happened here.

So I used my guaranteed Legendary from last season and got a Legendary L-Sat skin, and was pretty bummed because how often will I get to pick one up fresh?

Then my very first game I landed on a drop and picked it up.

That thing is nuts.

And in the 3 matches where I was jumpmaster, both have gone off on their own to different places than where I pinged.

I used to consistently win solo, now it seems impossible.

I think with the bungling of dailies and loot, people tend to spread out more. I'm not sure how I feel about it - there always seems to be a team landing wherever I go, but it doesn't seem like everyone just wants to drop Skulltown or Market right away. The bigger clusterfucks seem like they happen mid-game now... at least that's been my experience.

This is a typical game - land Hydro Dam, loot up. Everyone has worse loot than we're used to, but, the ring will close on us so we gotta head west. Ping the bunker with the stairs - squad goes swamps and either gets ripped apart by another team or they die in the ring. I get a knockdown 5 minutes later before dying to a full squad.

"well neon you gotta stick with your team even if they are going to suicide"

okay so I stick with the bad decision makers, and those types of players just run and hide when the bullets fly.

and I don't know what's happening, why it's all just garbage play :( solo-queue was a mixed bag but now it's just pure garbage. maybe just need a break and in a month it'll have worked itself out. blah, I say.
