It rewrites the entire laws of nature and removes all the stakes of the series moving forward.

If Ging can basically make it so that any of those cards can be used outside the game as a reward for winning, Nothing matters anymore.

I found Kumika no Mikaku randomly. It's horribly typical fare, with the gimmick being a waif alien that doesn't need to eat having a shojo orgasm every time she's introduced to new earth food.

It's trash. I can't look away. I'm awful.

Under the specific condition that they win and beat the game first. They say on multiple occasions how broken nen can be when you add conditions, with it being more power the more specific you are. It's how Kurapika is completely broken and godlike vs A Spider. Or how Gon could completely Godstomp Pito in one shot. Ging can't just pull that shit out of his ass.

The problem is that there is no specification or limit made. Yes they have to win, but the entire game takes place in the real world, on an island. Literally dozens to hundreds of people are using these cards to do all sorts of literally world defying abilities.

The only good parts IMO were Bisky and Hisoka being part of it. Such a huge let down after Yorknew.

Using that power under the condition that they are in the game. They have to enter in through the console. And register and all that jazz or else those cards and shit won't work. Follow the rules of the game and win under the games conditions. You can't enter into the island any other way than through the console. It was also a group effort, and not just Ging alone. He and all his friends worked together to make that game. Not just Ging. So it's also not like Ging has all that power himself.

I was hyped up to the point people call it the best shonen ever made. Doesnt even come close to Naruto, FMA Brotherhood, and I enjoy Fairy Tail a lot more too.

Oof. That's a hard disagree from me. Nothing in Naruto even comes close to the creativity of Hunter x Hunter. And FMA is honestly the most overrated Anime I've seen. 90% of it was p terrible. And I couldn't even make it through one ep of Fairy Tale I disliked it so much.

HxH is definitely overrated. I shouldn't have to wait for a certain arc for it to be as good it's claimed to be. And as mentioned, it's quite disconnected overall. Any parts you can find enjoyment in seldom have any kind of heavy underlying relevance within the series as a whole.

That's not really a bad thing. You can pretty much pick up any arc of HxH and go from there and really not be lost. All the arcs being self contained isn't a negative. I'd say the opposite. Episodic stuff is my preference. Especially for something as long as HxH. Not everything needs to be some deep overarching story.

Episodic stuff is my preference. Especially for something as long as HxH. Not everything needs to be some deep overarching story.

I wouldn't call it a good thing either. I suppose you can chalk it up to preferences however. I personally enjoy that, when I'm investing an absurd amount of time into something, that it didn't feel like time wasted. I like when shows do things like "hey remember what happened last season? Or in that one episode? In that one arc? Remember? Well that was an important event that's still reflected currently. There's a reason it happened. Or maybe you didn't like what happened. Rest assured, it wasn't all for naught". But that's just me. I fucking hate filler. I know some people like it. More power to em. But that's what HxH felt like to me.

I'm not opposed to it if it's done right though. I like JoJo's and the way that's broken up is just leaps and bounds better. Each season isn't just a new arc. It's a new story. New characters. New setting. It's even more disjointed than HxH, but at the same time it isn't because although very subtle it's connected quite tightly. The lore, history, characters all impact each other even if not directly. Even when you have a complete timeline reset it all still manages to remain intertwined quite nicely.

It's difficult to say a less disjointed plot is necessarily better though. In cases like Naruto, basically almost nothing happens except whatever's happening to the main characters, or important events between two minor characters happen because the next plot for the main characters needed it to happen.

Or in Jojo where people essentially exist to be the next monster of the day for the main cast to face. Even though a lot of the opponents are supposed to have a life of their own, it's honestly really difficult to think of them as such. Things very rarely happen outside the combatants unless the story needed there to be a next thing as fast as possible.

Meanwhile, HxH is what happens when an actual world of Nen and the politics and history of people with Nen constantly clash and converge. Gon and friends are not the focal point of the world. They're powerful, but the world is just so much bigger than they are. They're usually not the cause nor the end of major conflicts, and even in something like Greed Island, Biske included, people are constantly trying to game the system, while Gon and Killua simply decide to enjoy it thus just happening to be the only 2 people who are not actively in it for the greed. They only finish it because they happen to be kids when there were people within the island that were significantly stronger than they ever were. Not to mention the people who made Greed Island are presumed to be mind bogglingly stronger and more knowledgable. In fact we later see several creators of Greed Island (mostly Gon's dad) be a significant part of a very vast and complex society of Nen users.

To me, those small aspects made the world so believable. But it's also in a sense that there are way too many underlying things just constantly happening in between and underneath the arcs and so much information being passed around that it can be a slog or even unnatural to the standard shounen flow. However, as a guy who's long been tired of the shounen genre, HxH is a breath of fresh air

Eh, I'm not sure if I'd say Hunter x Hunter felt like filler. The arcs, while not really interconnected, did all serve a purpose. In all honesty, if you changed out characters for every different arc so it wasn't Gon and Killua as the protags, It'd be really JoJo like. New characters, new setting, new story. But, they made Killua and Gon a constant, and each different arc really expanded on and gave more to their characters and the world. Which isn't really a bad thing, because you can really see how these two grow over the course of the series. The only arc that really felt like filler to me was the Killua's Family arc in the early parts. But it did serve a purpose in introducing Killua's family and explaining why he is the way he is.

Funny enough, the actual two filler episodes about The Spiders kicking Chimera Ant ass are two of the best in the series.

But, all in all, I guess it really does come down to preferences. I like and love how it's a big world, and each individual arc goes all in and focuses on something different and unrelated from the last. It allows them to really show the world they built and do different things, while tying everything up at the end of the arc so they can move on to the next without worrying about carrying on old plot points. It's one of the many reasons I consider JoJo to be the greatest anime/manga of all time.

As I've said before I was only bored during the first HxH arc. I liked everything after. Even the politics, world building, philosophical stuff. Its stuff I've really not seen before in a shounen and I appreciate it. But it isnt without flaws.

Why does Kurapika even exist? He kills 1, just one spider (another dies too, but she made that decision), then the spiders go ape shit despite the fact that they should be used to members dying for a new member to join. Then Kurapika disappears and serves no more purpose.

One of which is to find out where all of his family's eyeballs are getting traded around to, another which is to gain enough influence and power to do so, and the other is to kill the Phantom guys.

The current arc has Kurapika as the main pov and focus. He's been wrecking ass and doing sick strats. It's also kinda broken how many abilities he actually has lol... wouldn't be a stretch to say he's one of the most powerful person in that universe

Yes, it was cut from the Glitter Force dub. But funnily enough, a later episode involving that boy (#40 in the normal series order) wasn't cut from the dub because it was far too important for her character development to leave out. Because of this, the localization team had to bullshit a reason why Akane/Kelsey was receiving a letter from a boy that (as far as the GF dub watchers were concerned) she had never met.

Yeah, they made re-rolling a massive pain in the ass in Magia Record. Even with the fastest method involving a rooted phone, you're still only doing a 10-roll every 15-20 minutes, and if you're just doing it the old fashioned way of uninstalling/reinstalling the game, it's more like a 10-roll every 30-45 minutes. At least there's really not much of an incentive for you in particular to be re-rolling, since Kyoko isn't even in the game yet.

Shiki ruminations, spoilers
so pink hair went to the creepy couple's big house, later found outside, died from ??? but showed signs of blood loss. IIRC she was covered in "insect" bites. After a few more ??? deaths, Nao died from similar symptoms, also with "insect" bites. Her husband flashed back to her inviting the creepy couple over; episode ended on blond boy inviting another of their family in. Considering these facts (blood loss, '"insect" bites, invitation), oh and wild dogs, my initial hypothesis is they're a bunch of Dracula style vampires

Though I don't think it'll be so cut and dry, I've got good feelings towards the suggestion they are cuz Dracula is a fantastic book. Mystery/horror anime is a fun genre that I want to watch more of. RIP blond boy?
