I actually did some more Odin attempts to see if I could skip a few other elemental banners.

I managed wins against Water-weak and Lightning-weak.

This was the hardest one for me. With only one AASB, my dps was not as good as in other elements, although Tidus did respectable damage with his USB. AOSB was used in the final phase for 300,000 damage. Not sure why I went with Penelo over my other medicas, I guess it was just a leftover from my Phoenix team. I had to blow one shot of RW early to lower his savage level, because he got too fast and damaging otherwise. Since this Odin doesn't lower damage, the USB1 chase could actually break the 10,000 limit.

I wanted Tyro USB1 for the early petrify. But this Odin also uses lots of non-piercing moves, so I wanted USB3 too, and Kain AASB screams for the USB4 crit buff. Having Wall and Astra up early enough was only possible by giving Prompto DMT and Tyro MM with Prompto entrusting to Tyro turn 1. Since Tyro is busy using his own SBs in the early parts, Rosa USB2 was the obvious healer choice. Kain started with BUSB to delay AASB a bit so it was still active in phase 3. Meanwhile Bartz LS'd to 4 bars, then used USB2 and AASB.

Nice work @Ultimaphazon, I've still only done lightning weak (with a magic team). I still think I should be able to do it with wind but haven't gotten there yet, either my dps is too low (when I run Edge for last stand) or I don't have enough survivability (when I run Tyro with USB4 and entrust).

I have enough anima lenses for my first USB selection. I think I should probably just go for Chicken Knife but I'll wait until after the full throttle draw just in case. Sarah's USB does seem like it would be helpful for I torment where I have no buffga though.

I did Ice Elemental Banner and got Celes Chain which is good but, I already have Celes AOSB so using them both is gonna be nearly impossible.

Celes can generate a ton of gauge thanks to her LM2 (especially if you also use Ace Striker). So you might be able to use both - worth testing.

Thanks to the later cutoff these are much better than I thought they would be. With dupes they're still a worse value for getting top prizes for me than a regular banner... but there's at least some extra value in the other items which are way cheaper than a regular banner.

Water is the best one for me with 4 top prizes that aren't dupes out of 79 (5.06%) followed by Holy with 7/147 (4.76%). I'm gonna do both of those. Wind is 4/125 (4%), I might do that one. The others are all more like 3% or below top prizes so I think I'll probably skip them but we'll see, I might get the pulling bug.

@eaedwards6400 For the full throttle I'd go for 2 or 3 since those are the ones you don't have any dupes for. Maximize your value by getting 3 new items instead of two or one. For elements, I think most of them might be worth it for you since I don't see a lot of chains or awakenings, but I'm too lazy to count the numbers of dupes. But do your elemental pulls before choosing your full throttle set, in case you draw the thing you were going to select.

@eaedwards6400 I'd actually suggest the X set. While II and III are indeed all new relics, Firion and especially Luneth are unlikely to see use in any of your elemental teams.

Tidus USB and AOSB would be a major boon to your water team.

I second pulling on all elemental banners. And do that before picking a Full Throttle set. There's always a chance for something great, and you look like you could still benefit from a lot of relics.

Edit: You didn't ask, but I suggest picking up Bartz USB whenever you get 1000 Tier 3 lenses. That relic is so good.

Yeah, X is also a reasonable option. It makes your water team better right now and it's somewhat future proof (20 hit AOSBs are way better than 3 hit, and his USB has a chase + IC1 so it can be compatible with an awakening in theory).

My own choice is harder than I thought. All along I was planning to grab XII because I don't have any of the items, I need the instant medica for torment, and Vaan's USB seemed pretty good. But now I realized I don't have any of the 5 items either (I thought Lenna's was a dupe) and Bartz's AOSB seems way better than Vaan's (4 elements and 4 en-elements when Vaan has 0). VI is also a contender because Locke has a 20 hit AOSB and I don't have his USB either (I have almost all his other stuff including chain), but Relm's USB is a dupe. I think I probably have to go for V now right? Even though Lenna's USB isn't really useful and I do still need a medica for XII.

before i was always thinking IX since i didn't have any of the relics and Zidane is one of my favorites. now that i have his AOSB, it's not looking quite as good. still not bad, though, since Cloud and Bartz both have sword damage LMRs, so Zidane's AOSB++ rosetta stoned would be handy to have. but III might be best now, since i don't have any of those relics and Arc's USB can't even be picked in the second wave of lenses.

IMHO III sounds much better for you since Zidane and Eiko's USBs are both available in the lens shop already, and the value of the 6++ sword isn't that high (you can just grab an artifact if you need it).

Edit: although I guess it would just be for torment, since Luneth's probably not going to make your wind team.

what i meant was it's one of the few 6++ that would be better than the second-best artifact. in a team with both Cloud and Bartz with their LMRs. but realistically even at 6+ it's only like 10 less atk than 6++, and i only have Cloud's LMR, not Bartz, and Bartz is easier to cap with anyway.

main concern is that even picking III i won't be able to beat that torment, but picking IX i WOULD be able to beat that one. and you only need to beat like, half of the torments to make all of the abilities.

Yeah, 6+ is fine. I think the III set at least moves you much closer to finishing the torment (I assume you have OK pUSB?) and like you said Arc's bUSB still isn't in the lens shop in Japan. For IX do you think you need both or can you just grab Eiko's with lenses and beat the torment?

Any thoughts on my decision of V vs XII (vs II vs VI)? I think it basically comes down to how useful Bartz's arcane really is. I think Lenna's Dress is almost useless to me. So if Bartz's AOSB is really useful I'll take it, otherwise I should just get Chicken Knife with lenses and take something else.

XII - No dupes, no good realm medica (just Larsa's BSB). Vaan's AOSB seems kinda weak though since he can't en-element.

II - No dupes, no good realm medica (just Minwu's SSB). Firion's AOSB hits three elements and the USB gives him en-holy.

VI - Dupe Relm USB, but Locke stuff is good. But I already sub-30 this torment.

As bad as dragoons are even low tier Awakenings with their corresponding chain are still more powerful than most USBs.

I'm trying to save up for next fest (with a couple pulls on FF2 maybe for Emperor) and am really tempted to bite, but I know I'll get bsb dupe/11. I need to focus on next fest for the Auron/Emperor chains since I really need to get a fire chain and gen2 earth chain for Odin.

Tidus chain and Bartz Awakening should be enough by themselves honestly, Kimahri will make it quicker. If you can adapt to Phoenix's speed he's one of the easiest 5* magicite.

Alright, I was agonizing a ton over my decision but I grabbed III partly just so I wouldn't have to keep thinking about it. Main reasons for 3: one of the best healing USBs that's not in the anima lens shop, good 20 hit arcane, I think it will let me beat the torment, and also because it's a realm that rarely gets events and that I rarely pull on. The next III event is about 5 months away and I don't know if I'll even pull then. V had a chance to help me on some Odin teams but I'm sure I'll have plenty of other chances to pick up stuff for Bartz, and stuff that will help with Odin. XII I ended up writing off mostly because Vaan just seems kinda weak at this point in the game and I'm not that confident it would let me beat the XII Torment which I remember being one of the worst.

It worked, kinda. Got my first kill in 48.09 after I lost Luneth right when he was charging his AOSB at 30s because I foolishly had him in slot 4. I think I must have been planning to jump over Ultimate Death when I set that up but I just forgot. If I just put OK in that slot it's probably like a ~35s win... gotta try again tomorrow.

This is such a tight run, I feel really good about this one. I started with a 31.87 and didn't really think I could improve it. Then I realized... lots of his attacks aren't that damaging and I have Arc's offensive USB. Then I basically mapped out exactly when I need to heal and when I can afford to use Holyja. Fun little fact, Holyja increases the brave level on the healing USB and Ultra Cure triggers the Dia Splash chase. Got to 30.24, I know sub 30 was possible but then I had a few failed runs and my magicite wasn't optimal (I had a blade ward 5 passive) so I decided to farm a fast act 10 to give myself a little wiggle room. That gave me a 30.01 (ugh) and then this 29.75.

what in the world, just got 5 discos from the ice banner, including Laguna's chain!! and Squall AASB but that's a dupe for me. others were Xezat USB dupe, Fran imperil USB, Firion USB with +phy damage and instant knight/samurai (not sure on the numbers for those two).

This was a real RNG mess with all the trances, sometimes I'd miss the sub30 due to time, and one time I almost got 25 seconds but Zidane died to poison after a last stand just when he was about to land the finishing blow. Well glad to have it done, guess I'll get that ice monk ability for Eight after all.

Tried another D???, without an awakening this time. Didn't quite make the sub30, mostly because Alma doesn't have a medica and my team falls apart when Chuchu starts using Unholy Darkness, but since but I got most of the rubies I'm good for now. *sigh* if only I got Agrias' awakening...



Guess I don't have to buy Ovelia's USB1 with Anima Lens now, I'm thinking Desch USB since I hear a lot of torment success stories with that and OK USB3.

I got Fujin's unique off the daily, I wasn't aware this existed since I thought Fujin debuted after uniques were still being made.

I also did go ahead and picked Desch's USB, and thanks to it I got another D??? sub30! First no Awakening sub30!



I also bought Necro Countdown for CoD to use despite the lost of precious Non-elemental crystals but it was worth it if it got me a sub30 D???.

Now I'm not sure which torment to go after next, FF4 seems obvious since I have Kain's Awakening but my other DPS characters in that realm tend to be magic. FF13 and T-0 seem possible too, though not sub30 possible yet. FF14 I could probably do if I had Y'shtola USB2.

Ah well I have plenty of rubies in the meantime now though. I can probably wait till next fest or a lucky 100 gem/daily.

Did the first two difficulties of Ahriman. Dont have any awakenings in FF III, but I do have a pretty solid physical team, plus Arc bUSB. Selected the III set from full throttle since I had no dupes, and would eventually need it for the torment. But for now, I got enough rubies to select the wind thief skill to use with Zidanes awakening. Heca, here I come!

@SSJSephirothGokuX123 weird, I've had Desch's USB for ages but I never thought it was much good. Doesn't seem like it works that well with Luneth either, he CAN use lightning he'd rather use wind. But I guess it worked.

For IV, do you have Tellah's SSB? It's +30% Atk/Mag and party IC1. Turned out to be super useful for my mixed team in that torment.

Desch USB is amazing for this fight if you're using a mage team, when he's equiped with Gathering Storm he's basically an Allegro con Moto DPS. Since he, Arc and OK have 35% dualcast LM2s they build chain really fast, along with OK USB3 chases the damage caps pretty quickly so the imperil wasn't important.

Lunneth was mostly the chain/Magicite duty or he spammed Flash Disaster and glint to build chain, he was capping with his OSB thanks to the stacking enWind. He's really more on the team because he's the only one who can avoid the turn 1 petrify.

I do have Tellah SSB which is definitely an option, but I'm not sure which DPS mage to take with me between Rydia, Palom and Barbarbiica. Tellah lacks a dualcast at the moment though so I wonder if it would just be better to have two DPS mages and build chain faster. I probably won't take on this torment for a while anyway since I want to get 100 attack magia on Kain and R5 Impulse Dive.

Whew, finally sub-30ed torment Gilgamesh. That took me way longer than it should have considering what I have in that realm. Couldn't do it with just Bartz awakening, I needed his USB too (took it from the Anima Lens shop). That's 7 sub-30 torments. Two more are sub-40 (VIII and XIV) but I'm not sure I can improve those with my current tools. I might try to work on completing I or II next.

Despite not having Bartz Awakening I'm actually considering FFV torment as a possibility, I've got Bartz USB1/2 & AOSB, Krile USB1/3 LMR, Dorgann USB/LMR, Gogo USB, Galuf USB1/BSB qc3 LMR/dualcast monk and Lenna USB2, which sucks but was the best healing option for this torment back then.

Maaaybe I could sub30 with enough dualcasts? Also is it bad I want to use anima lens on Gogo's LMR?

I do have all 3 of those, and with Arc's bUSB, I may have decent survivability. It's just the two incubus moves that are deadly. In the D240, I got hit by incubus tornado then incubus quake right after. Haven't gone to look at the turn order, so unsure if that's normal or just a phase change, but it huuuurt. That being said, I think I have the offensive tools to do it.

Alright, so what magicite decks are everybody using? I've done some half-assed inheriting but I've yet to commit to a real inheritance strategy. Looking ahead at Odin and 6*s, it looks like the most common setup is:

Triple empower
Double dampen + HP boon
Madeen w/ ATK/MAG boon
Madeen w/ 2x HP boon
Lakshmi w/ MND+healing boon

From what I can gather, blade/spell ward aren't worth using since they got nerfed, and fast act isn't really worth it anymore since there's QCs all over the place. Maybe precise/deadly strikes?

Some people use Madeen with healing boon and mind+20 over Lakshmi for that extra surging power.

Also don't neglect blade/spell wards just because they were nerfed, they're still extremely important for top difficulty content.

Did you guys see the info for 6* Magicite Ifrit? He's got the pillar gimmick that FF14 Ifrit uses (despite it being the FFX Ifrit) but he uses four of them, and if you hit all 4 at the same time he uses a party wipe attack.

Geez, way to fuck up water mages Dena, there's only like 5 mages with enWater and Rydia and Arc got screwed hard because they're primarily summoners.

Granted it was with a awakening and two AOSBs, but still it was sweet revenge on a boss that pissed me off long ago.

I was trying to do fire weak Odin today, but it's pretty tough. I only have Locke's chain and my DPS is Terra and Rydia. With Edge I was able to make it to the last phase but I was using Fabula Raider so I didn't have the instant 99999 hits to carry me through and ran out of steam. When I used OK to buff I just wasn't able to keep my team alive to the final phase. Vincent's chain would really help.

At this point what banners are people looking forward to and what is your most wanted item?

My current most wanted item is Vincent's chain, which as far as I can tell doesn't come back any time in the next 6 months. (There's no new magic fire chain coming either)

VI banner in two weeks looks really good to me. 3 awakenings and Strago's chain is definitely worth a pull. I'm also looking forward to the Brothers summon for Rydia but that's a long way off.
