Dave/Connor are CBS's babies. There are a ton of reasons I could have left them off (Dave's age, plus their popularity tanked after their behavior on 24) but other than Rob/Brennan (first winners) and Nat/Kat (first F/F winners) they are probably the single biggest lock.

I finished my TAR5 watch and am now two episodes into TAR22. I haven't been logging opinions of the teams; so far I don't really dislike anyone that's still in but don't love anyone either.

If I do have time to watch another season after this, I might do 25 also. I only watched a couple episodes of that one. Really, anything between 19 and 28, I came and went (and didn't watch some of them at all). I've seen 1-18 + 29 + 31 in full (missed the first two weeks of 30 since I forgot it was on), but haven't rewatched any seasons until now.

Well lucky you, you got out of it just as it started to get bad but didn't get back into it once it started to get good again.

From what you missed:

19 - bleh
20 - one of the worst, but has one of the most lovable teams in the history of the show
21 - decent
22 - great
23 - bleh
24 - widely considered to be the Redemption Island of TAR
25 - pretty great
26 - decent, quite a feat considering the casting twist had the potential to make it unwatchable
27 - the opposite of 20; honestly, as of my rewatch, it's a contender for best season, if you can get over one really unlikable team
28 - don't bother unless you're going for completion

19 - watched the first two episodes live and was so bored by them I said "fuck it" and didn't go back
20 - still hadn't fully swallowed the bitter taste I still had from the previous season and, given what you guys are saying, I should be happy for that. Except for Mark & Bopper.
21 - I watched like a third of it
22 - I watched the first two episodes - the two I just rewatched - and MAYBE the third? I don't remember much of anything after that. This was not a good time in my life.
23 - I don't remember watching this one at all.
24 - The All-Star thing felt too soon after their last such season and many of the choices were questionable, so I am SO glad I missed out on it.
25 - I watched a little of this and will go back and see this one through at a later time. Though I recently found out the runner-up, Jim, passed away unexpectedly earlier this year... that sucks, RIP :(
26 - I believe I watched most of this live, but missed an episode or two. The "blind date" idea was definitely there, but they didn't take into account that all of those teams were more concerned with winning $500K than they were finding love.
27 - I don't remember how much of this I watched. The unlikable guy is insufferable superfan Justin, was it? Might have to watch this later.
28 - I think I watched a couple of episodes but the stupid casting gimmick made me not care from the start
29 - An idea they should absolutely do again when they need a change of pace and the season that got me back into the show.

I dreamed I was on BB last night, except it was, odd.

-It wasn't in the actual BB house. It was just in like a regular-ass house, but with kind of a frat house set up.
-There was a person I knew in the house, as well as one veteran (Jessica Graf) and they immediately got into an intense fight that had them both crying (like, ugly, screaming, high school movie crying)
-We didn't move in in the traditional BB way. We just kinda casually moved in like one would move into an apartment, and I even saw one person moving out from the previous game.
-I really wasn't playing the game; I got roped into an 8-person alliance by being in the right place at the right time (the pool in the dead-ass of night) but otherwise spent my time showmancing two girls at once. Which is funny because that entire statement is the exact opposite of how I'd play one of these shows.

At a certain point I did consciously realize it was a dream and tried hard not to wake up.

To be honest... it's amazing how Big Brother has become more and more like Sex House in recent years. Aside from BB9, old school seasons didn't have that.

TAR22 update...
How many one-leg performances were as embarrassing as John's on Leg 4 in Bali? That was BAD. First him and Jessica go to the wrong house and creep out some locals. Then John says he has "great attention to detail" and flubs the Detour despite that. Jessica suggests using the Express Pass, but he insists they "be smart" and save it, insisting a team is behind them (there isn't). She again suggests using it at the other Detour but he still shoots her down. They complete it and make it to the Roadblock, which is at the Pit Stop, with two other teams still vying. He again insists there's no need to use the Express Pass. He gets the wrong surfboard and later goes to Jessica WITHOUT a board. It takes him an hour and a half. The reason for their elimination lies solely on his shoulders; if they'd just used the Express Pass at the first Detour or the Roadblock, they'd have made it out. But this arrogant douchebag had no sense of logic and hopefully learned the lesson of listening to women's intuition. Like Phil said: "Oy vey."

It's easily the dumbest elimination in TAR history. There is ONE other that I think may rival it, but many tend to forget it even happened because it was an unmemorable team on an unpopular season. Yeah, he'd have easily passed a surfboard-wielding Chuck. Being given the Express Pass, Phil would've checked them in and they'd still be in the race. But no, John insisted there was a team behind them, and why he thought that is incomprehensibly stupid. Mona and Chuck were performing the Roadblock. Bates & Anthony were at the first Detour when they left. That accounts for all three teams on the last flight. Who the fuck did he think was behind him? And why didn't he listen to Jessica? I loved how Phil handled it. He wanted John to be as embarrassed as possible. Jessica was glaring at him. She knew that his stubbornness and arrogance had cost them. I quite liked Jessica - little scenes like her high-fiving the locals in Bora Bora, her competitive spirit, her intelligence, and she made a funny comment in a confessional placed after getting the Express Pass in Leg 1. John, however, I hated. She could do better, but since she married him...

TAR22 Episode 5:
The embarrassment for John continues. The intro made him look bad, the other teams were baffled by how he got eliminated with the Express Pass (though some of them didn't know it was John being stubborn and arrogant about it - Joey and Winnie, however, did). I don't quite understand why Joey & Meghan and Mona & Beth were targeted for the U-Turn - what did that little alliance do to the other teams? I am under the impression that nobody really liked John - as is deserved for such a douchenozzle - so any friends of his are enemies of theirs. It was the reason that stuck.

WTF equalizer IN Hanoi? The airport wasn't enough of one? On a leg with a U-Turn? UGH. Hate that. There could have been a night leg - those are always fun. TAR31 had three of those in the first five episodes.

So Dave & Connor technically quit but really, Dave's orthopedic surgeon pulled him from the game. It counts as a MedEvac, imo. Another note... Joey & Meghan could've picked who to U-Turn better, but I get why they wanted a guarantee. I don't get why they didn't recognize that they were in 2nd given how only one U-Turn slot was used and could U-Turn practically anyone else. Of course, it didn't matter since the leg became non-elimination due to the MedEvac. But I'd have thought Bates & Anthony - the ringleader alpha males. They were blissfully unaware that Chuck & Wynona were still on their FIRST Detour, too, xD

Cast opinions so far...
Bates & Anthony - Okay, I know these guys win. They're huge threat alpha males, and for that reason I don't particularly like them. There's not much interesting stuff about them quite yet.
Caroline & Jennifer - Such great TV. I love it when they sing for funsies. They're also quite blonde. Did you forget to read your fucking clue? It's happened many a time. At least they're humble about it. (don't spoil me, but I think they're fourth?)
Chuck & Wynona - Wynona is useless, so I get why Chuck doesn't listen. Chuck is doing every last Roadblock, meaning those two ain't long for the Race. How they took so damn long to realize they needed to hold hands on the hopscotch dance task, how they neglected to bring replacement chickens, how they got so lost multiple times, and how they're many hours behind due to being U-Turned are also factors.
Joey & Meghan - Fun, but Joey has the potential to become obnoxious. He hasn't yet. They took being U-Turned decently well. They're more delightfully geeky than I expected from what I remembered + hearsay.
Max & Katie - The villain team. Katie has RBF and is so bad at hiding it whenever she feels she has to. Admittedly. I can see why these two keep to themselves a lot. They're not outwardly friendly, but yet they're compelling to root against in the same way as Brandon & Nicole. Only they're not hypocritical fake Christians, they're just kind of mean. Because it's fun.
Mona & Beth - The Bowling Moms they are not, since they lack the CP edits. They still seem like fun, competitive people. They're just unmemorable compared to much of this cast.
Pam & Winnie - These two are fun. Not the most memorable, but still fun.

Dave & Connor - Was sad to see how they went out. The storyline was over-presented by Phil, however, so I didn't quite find myself rooting for them to persevere (partly because I knew they didn't, but I thought they were properly eliminated and not MedEvac'd). It's Phil and not Jeff, at least.
Jessica & John - She was great. His self-embarrassment was glorious. I've talked that to death now.
Idries & Jamil - Dumb to think of quitting a Detour before switching. There's no way both tasks involve the same swimming skillset. Deserved to be eliminated. Only interesting moment with them is how they presented themselves as "deliverymen" - hey, that's not exactly a lie, since they deliver babies.
Matt & Daniel - Boring, yet conceited. Bad combination. Good that they're gone.
