Not using your phone alarm is a really good technique to get over internet addiction. That morning snooze & browse void is really bad. By using a standalone alarm, your desire to check your phone will make you get up from your bed, which solves both snooze & browse problems.

I use a standalone alarm AND my phone and still struggle mightily w these.

That doesn't help when you're wasting time browsing your phone though. The point is to wake up by standing up then you can avoid both pitfalls.

15 minutes wasting time on my phone when waking up is much easier to account for than falling asleep for who knows how long.

My phone is far away from my bed. How is that different?

Not seeing what's wrong with 1 and 4 there.

Yeah especially listening to Spotify in the car. What the fuck. Also, having the alarm away from my bed does nothing for me. I just come back and get into the bed after I hit snooze <_<

Its better than it being near your bed, but still causes you to lapse into internet usage as soon as you wake up and not get your day beginning

My account got hacked in 2012 and I figured that was a good opportunity to never use it again.

It's also for old people, no one I grew up with still uses it but most have an account. I'm young enough that I never really used it for the messenger and everyone I know has migrated over to Instagram for chat related purposes.

I still have an account but I don't use it. I just keep it because I have a lot of communication from the last few years of my mom's life on there. Stuff like her commenting on pictures of my kids.
