I will first post the entirety of the rules that we used in pretty much every game since forever. Then I will post some game specific notes.

THE RULES:
Stole these from like every game ever. Some slight modifications or extra stuff so make sure you read.

GENERAL
0. Don't be rude. Saying "your idea is dumb" is totally fine. Saying "you are dumb" is less fine but I won't warn you unless you're being obnoxious. Saying "you are dumb and worthless and your family would be better off without you" is out of bounds and I will modkill you without warning. I am using my discretion on this, and probably giving Suprak discretion as well, so just don't go over the lines. You know what they are. Don't ruin the game by being meaner than I would be.
1. Mafia is fundamentally a game of the uninformed majority (the TOWN), against the informed minority (the MAFIA/SCUM). It is the town's job to eradicate the mafia completely, and the mafia's job to survive to a point where numbers are such that they cannot lose.
2. The town eliminates the mafia via lynches, which occur once a day. Everyone gets one vote which they may place on whoever they feel is scum, and then move to another player at any time. Whoever receives the most votes is 'lynched' and removed from the game.
3. During the night phase, the mafia gets it's chance to even the numbers slightly by killing one townie, removing them from the game. All power roles (under most circumstances) also get to perform their actions.
4. The game ends when one faction meets its victory condition. A player will win, even if they are dead, so long as their alignment triumphs, unless they are modkilled.
5. Do what the host says. The host shouldn't ask you to break a rule, but if he says to do something that violates something else, do it. Feel free to take it up with him in private beforehand, but do it.

VOTING

1. You vote in the format '##Vote: Player', in bold. You can remove your vote by posting '##Unvote', also in bold. You can also choose to '##Vote: No Lynch'
2. The lynch is decided on a plurality system. Once one player receives votes from most of the playership left in the game, the day immediately ends, and that player is lynched. Failing that, every day has a time limit of 48 hours. The player in the lead at that point will be lynched.
2a. If there are an even number of players alive, No Lynch only requires half of the players to vote for it. Everything else requires an actual majority.
3. In the event that two or more players are tied in votes at the end of the day, sudden death will occur. A thirty minute extension will begin once indicated by the host, and only the tied players may be voted for. The moment one player emerges as the vote leader, the day immediately ends, and they will be lynched. If there is no change after thirty minutes, the day will end with No Lynch.
3a. In a tie between No Lynch and a player (or players), No Lynch automatically wins, with no tiebreaker.

ROLES

1. Before the game begins, you will receive your role from the host. This will contain your flavor name/character, your alignment, and your role, as well as some flavor text explaining your character and role.
2. You must keep this role to yourself. Sharing it with anyone else within or outside of the topic will lead to your immediate modkill or replace, as well as possibly anyone who sees it.
3. You may choose to reveal your role in-game, but you must paraphrase anything that isn't your flavor name, alignment, and role (i.e. the flavor text that came with your role - You can discuss this, but you must paraphrase it). Any questions about paraphrasing can be asked to me or Suprak

ETIQUETTE

1. An above-average level of activity is expected in this game. You are not expected to post for the whole 48 hours, but you are expected to keep up to speed with the topic. Posting only a handful of times a day is not an acceptable level of activity. If you expect to be unavoidably absent for a short period (less than 24 hours) at any point in the game, inform the host in advance. Good activity is critical to a good game of mafia and going AWOL is not fun for anyone. You need at least 5 meaningful posts during the day. If you cannot reach this, I will replace you and I will likely do it without warning.
2. Play to win. There is no such thing as being in an unwinnable position in mafia, however hopeless it may seem. If you are patently not trying, and/or sabotaging your faction, you will be on grounds for a modkill.
3. You are forbidden from talking to another player about the game outside the topic, unless you have a special board, or permission from the host to do so. You are forbidden from posting in the topic during the night phase. You are forbidden from editing or deleting posts. This includes players who have been eliminated from the game, and I would appreciate if spectators would do the same.
4. Do not post/pass on messages or pictures from another player into the topic. Do not post audio clips into the topic.
5. Remember to check your messages before posting in each new day, even if you are not expecting correspondence from the host. There may be something you need to be aware of before posting.
6. Do not attempt to bet, or stake a claim on outside forces during the game i.e. do not 'swear on your mother's life' that you are telling the truth or threaten 'to quit mafia' if something doesn't go the way you want it to. This will result in a swift modkill, as soon as it's brought to my attention. Even if the player in question is not town.
7. Play nice. Deliberate intimidation, harassment or verbal abuse of another player in a malicious and uncalled for fashion may lead to a modkill. Mafia is a game first and foremost, and while your own fun should be priority #1, everybody else's should be priority #1a.
8. Do what the Host says.
9. If I forgot an obvious rule, too bad, don't break it, etc. I reserve the right to modify these rules within reason if I forgot a rule or something similar.

MODKILL NOTES:
1. Do not threaten to modkill yourself. Even threatening to modkill yourself is grounds for a modkill so do not do it. If you feel overwhelmed, immediately contact me. Do not even post in the topic that you are asking for a replacement. Simply contact me.
2. Do not do anything that can be meta'D for out of game reasons. Do not talk about any communication you have from me at all, other than your role PM. Things outside the scope of actually playing the game cannot be brought in for any reason, and if you try to I will modkill you for it.
3. There is no benefit for mod killing yourself, so don't even consider it. A town modkill immediately ends the day. A scum modkill will allow the day to continue. There is no strategy to your benefit or your faction's benefit. Do not do it.
4. Be extremely careful about posting at the end of day. Be aware of when day ends. You cannot post after the time limit. There may be some minor leeway in certain circumstances, but it is on you to be aware when deadline is and not post after it.

GAME SPECIFIC NOTES:
1. This game contains FLAVOR. In this flavor text, there are tons of characters. While these characters correspond to players, NONE OF THE FLAVOR hints at the game. I will modkill if people say "wait, I think the Oaf is evil, based on the flavor text. Clearly the Oaf is Suprak! He must be Scum!"

You have free reign to guess which character matches up to you, but they were all randomly assigned so don't try to look into it too much :)

2. Powerless Town members in this game are called TOWN Villager. Not Vanilla.

3. I will be doing full flips after death. That means, I will be posting entire role PMs so there is no confusion about roles. Certain parts MIGHT BE redacted. This is particularly true when it involves some sort of mechanical issue. But there will be no ambiguity about what any of the roles do.

4. You may NOT POST until a day is officially started by the word "GO". Don't ask "CaN wE pOsT yEt"

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. For the Oaf, things were looking great, as he was just about to come into some great inheritance. But of course, inheritance follows a death. And along with the twenty-one other people sailing for the Island, the Oaf was particularly close to the Dignitary. However, he was disappointed as he did not get to carry the ashes to the Island, where they were to be cast into the ocean.

That duty belonged to the Heir, whom the Oaf spotted having an argument with his sister, the Heiress. A pair of twins, well-known for the fortune made by their parents. And now, they were to grow ever richer, with the passing of the Dignitary.

The Heir was soon approached and calmed down by his wife, the Gymnast. She was half his age, and considered quite the gold digger. After all, she couldnt earn her gold in the olympics, so she might as well earn it through marriage. But the Oaf liked her. She was nice to him.

The arrival to the Island was signalled by the ships horn, and the Oaf quietly moved to where the gangplank would set down. In front of him were two women quiet ones who shied away as he approached. The Banker and the Chef. The two often whispered to each other whenever the Oaf was around whether it was about him or gossip about the others, who could only know?

A short while later, the party had made its way into the estate on the Island, dividing up into rooms. The Oaf received a laugh and a pillow to his face as he entered his room - his bunkmate, it would appear, would be the Teenager. The kid began to mouth off about how cool the Island was, and how exciting all of the people there were. The Oaf was glad to sit in silence. He enjoyed listening to how the kid was going to seduce the beautiful Idol, or earn an internship with the Senator. Ah, to be young and dream.

Soon enough, the party had arrived cliffside. The ashes had been handed off to the Explorer, who reached the edge before tossing them into the waters below. The Explorer was one of the Dignitarys best mates, and he said a few words before the party took its silence.

HanOfTheNekos has died. He was The Author, INDEPENDENT Game-Master.

Everyone turned to head back inside, but the Oaf caught sight of the Racer, looking down over the sea. Her dark hair flowed in the wind, tears streaming down her face. The Oaf only watched for a moment, keeping eyes on her for her safety.

Back inside, the Lawyer had the papers drawn up. She spoke in a curt, professional voice: In short the Dignitary has split his estate twenty-two ways. One of those ways includes the Island here, so we will need to decide who wishes to take this land as their share. Otherwise, various assets have been grouped together, and we can discuss who gets what over the next couple of days.

After the short bit of business, the place got very lively as the Videographer and the Pianist broke out the booze. The Oaf had plenty, and soon things were swimming. He watched as the Videographer worked his charm to win over the buxom Biologist, and soon the two were heading upstairs. The Pianist was less successful, trying to woo the Actress who just considered herself way above him. He eventually gave up, heading back to his room alone.

Eventually, a sly smile and a tempting finger brought the Oaf over to a corner where he met a group of people, who began to shower him with ideas of wealth beyond his wildest dreams

In the morning, the Oaf awoke with quite the hangover, voices shouting and pounding on the doors in the sleeping areas. Everyone was brought together in the dining room, where the Reporter spoke.

Unfortunately, the boat that had brought us all to the Island is in no working order. Somebody has tampered with it, leaving us stranded here.

The Huntress, her curls framing her impish face and pointed nose spoke up. Surely theres another way off the Island?

I have already made contact with someone on the mainland. They can pick us up in ten days time. spoke the Teacher. The question is who would do such a thing? And why?

The Oaf didnt feel very good. The memories came rushing back it was he who had messed with the engine the prior night. He was asked to, and did it very willingly. Those people were being so nice to him

Accusations flew back and forth, but he kept quiet. It was not long before the Painter, fury in his eyes, was throwing punches at the Foreman. They were quickly broken up by the Gamer, whose size dwarfed that of both the fighting men.

Back in the rooms, the Teenager sat on his bed, a puzzled look on his face. I just dont understand why somebody would do that.

The Oaf sighed and put his fingers to his aching temples. It I did it. Some people last night told me if I did it, I would get so much more money. They said the shares would be much larger when we all left since there would be less people to share with.

The Teenager looked on, mouth agape. That sounds like they plan to kill us. You dont want to hurt us do you?

The Oaf got up from his bed and approached the door. No. But if thats what they plan I must put an end to it.

The Oaf left the room. He did not return.

Around lunchtime, there was a scream heard from the beach. The party all managed their way down, where they intercepted the Actress who was running away from the water. Tears were streaming down her face, her makeup bleeding down her chin. Its oh its too much to bear! The woman fainted into the arms of the Painter, who took her up to the estate while the rest descended upon the beach.

There, seated on a bench, slumped over with a bullethole in his head, was the Oaf.

Suprak has died! He was Lennie Small (Of Mice and Men), MAFIA Goon!

The Teenager spoke up. He told me this morning some people put him up to breaking the boats engine last night. He said they told him they were going to reduce the amount of shares I think by killing us.

It was dead silent for about a minute before the whispers began. And soon, the whispers grew to shouting as the party began pointing fingers at the people who they feared wished to kill them.

And then there were Twenty-One

Hey dudes

I realized over night millers really suck, now that I'm one of'em.

King James VI and I, Town Miller

King james as in, the King James Bible. Miller because I didn't actually write the Bible but I just got my name slapped onto the English version of it.

I debated not even claiming it because I love being coy about my role whenever possible, but, meh. Was hoping for something shortlived, but NOPE.
