Sadly, no. Played it on and off for many years, but only got to 118 out of 120 shines. I just couldn't find all of the blue coins.

Great game, though, really was. On the same level as something like Super Mario Galaxy 1, but certainly not as good as 64.

Once, and only once, even though I've played it a couple different times.

The blue coins are just the biggest slog out of any game I've played. For me, that was the turning point... that was the first time I'd ever gotten 100% in a game and said "man that just really wasn't fulfilling or satisfying in the least".

Oddyssey actually reminds me of Sunshine a lot. Just the sheer amount of content, but not entirely in a good way. I've only done about two thirds of the content in Oddyssey, and am pretty fed up with the game.

Of course, if we're talking recently Nintendo releases, look at the 900 Korok Seeds in BotW. That was just wtf. I got maybe 150 and that was punishment enough. I don't know why companies put stuff like that in.

Even though Sunshine is one of my favorite Mario games, I never bothered to get all the blue coins. They're just too tedious and frustrating to find; you have to spray every wall and floor in every star. The purple coins in Odyssey are what blue coins would be like if they were done right.

That's when the game became not fun. The Blue Coin collecting and some of the optional shines kill the game for me.

I like the Korok Seeds in that they reward you for exploration, but getting all 900 seems like a huge amount of work. Once you're down to a few dozen seeds, I imagine you could search for hours without finding one. And if you tried to follow a guide, it would be very tedious to figure out which ones you've already gotten.

I did, however, 100% SMG and that shit felt great.

Finding the moons in Odyssey is satisfying and the game assists you. Times challenges are very clearly demonstrated to the player

Bailed early, and just played something else. Don't remember if it was the beach or the piranha plant area.

Yes. It was pretty easy to 100% too. The hidden coins were the most annoying part of it.

Honestly, I got bored of it pretty quickly. I played a few levels but the only one I liked was the rollercoaster one.

I'll be honest... seeing this thread in the "my posts" section is making we want to play this game again. Definitely wouldn't get all the blue coins... but getting all the shines would be a fun distraction. It's a fun game to play in the summer.

I should've been more specific... I was referring to the mission/episode shines(plus the two secret ones) in each level minus all the ones you get from the blue coins.
