Hello everyone, and welcome back to Best of the Trope!

Here are the rules. Each day, I will post a trope from TV Tropes, and each poster can name up to three examples of that trope. Whichever nomination gets the most mentions wins! This trope describes the basic situation where a story's characters are attending a Masquerade Ball, a dinner party, or any event with a sizeable amount of people in it, and the lights go out. Usually this is accompanied by screams, chaos and people trying to feel their way through the dark, but, more importantly, as soon as the lights come on someone is found to have been murdered in all of the commotion.

The general reason for this trope is often to establish a mystery where, in the dark, anyone could have done it.

TL,DR: The lights go out, and when they come back on, someone has been murdered. Self-explanatory today.

Do Weeping Angels kill? I thought they transported the victim through time. I'm basing this off Blink, the only WA episode I have seen.
