Well new to me at least, a 2017 Dodge Charger R/T. They have two of them on the lot, same year, similar miles, and within a grand of each other. Both have 30k miles and they're asking about 21k. I don't have much experience with Chargers aside from my friend's 2012 SXT model which ran fine, but had a few electrical problems.

Anyone here have experience with these things?

I'm considering that in my budget, but I'm more concerned about the reliability. I want to make it a daily, and though I'd have another backup car just in case, I'd focus on keeping this one up and running as best I can. I hear the engine itself is pretty stout, though that Fiat merger has me worried.

I'm not criticizing but I am genuinely curious why people are still intent on buying cars which are not fuel efficient at all.

I have two regular old gas cars and I'm going to move to at least Hybrid with my next purchase if the electric offerings aren't better by then :\

So looking through the VINs on both, they seem to have some shady history. For starters, neither match the factory color that the VINs say they're supposed to have. Another oddity in one of them is that the mileage given doesn't match up to the pictures I requested of it earlier. They're way lower, by almost 7k miles. Makes me not even want to keep pursuing it and bail on them.

On a different lot I found a 2017 Taurus Limited for 18k. Less miles, less cylinders, and it's from dealer with residual warranty. I'm still not super keen on Fords but I trust in them a little more than I do Dodge at the moment. There's also a 2018 Taurus Limited there that's an all wheel drive, but for 23.5k. Little more but that AWD is appealing. Snow can pile pretty high here.

My goodness, a Taurus is probably a worse old person car than a Camry. The thing looks like a walrus.

A clean example of the Charger will turn up eventually. Just wait for it.

Can't speak for everyone, but for me -- Hybrids/Electrics aren't fun to drive and don't look good unless you pay a ton. I don't want to pay a ton but want to have a car that looks good and is fun to drive. I have a 10 minute commute to work, don't drive much other than that, and make decent money so the cost of gas means very little.

You can cuss here, it's okay.

Not sure what else is in my budget that still has the tech and features I want then. And also fit in. The Camry is too small, and I don't want a car with a tiny displacement turbo engine. Plus any truck nearby is either way out of budget or has a shit ton of miles in a very short window of time.

You can eat your cake and have it with cars. A 300+hp Mustang will still get your 30 miles to the gallon.

Speaking for myself, I like to drive cars. Those little electric cars I see everywhere are basically refrigerators on wheels to me. Wouldn't be caught dead in one of those things.

I see something like this but Teslas look normal and many hybrid model vehicles look identical to their non-hybrid counterparts.

But I guess I'm not *that* caught up on looks - I also don't like driving toasters around like Smart Cars and those new BMWs look kinda weird, but other than that if it looks more or less like a regular sedan it's probably good enough for me.

All of the base Mustangs I've rented with the 2.3L EcoBoost have gotten me 30 MPGs on the highway. If you drive it like a maniac, then MPG suffers as it does for any other car.

I see something like this but Teslas look normal and many hybrid model vehicles look identical to their non-hybrid counterparts.

A Tesla to me is like if Whirlpool or Kenmore decided to build a car. Literally a toaster or washing machine on wheels. You literally plug it in. I see these things on the road and just laugh.

No quality. No grille. No engine. I find it comical that the person who can afford to spend $50K or more on these things actually cares about fuel efficiency. If gas mileage bothers you that much, then get a Corolla.

Service records on the cars? 30k isn't a that high, but for a 2017 and that type of car (kind of a midlife crisis car that someone could have beaten the hell out of before trading it back in) I'd be a little skeptical.

If you're okay with a smaller car, 10th gen Civic (Sport or Si) offer a stupidly high amount of car for dollar ratio, with more than acceptable fuel economy (only caveat is the Sport and Si require 91 or more octane gas).

"No engine" - it doesn't really need one ... Teslas have broken many performance records for production cars. And I don't see why "plugging it in" is a laughable thing...

Ah I wish, but there's two important numbers that I have to look at before anything else, which is leg and headroom. So I'll look into those on my lunch, but if the legroom is less than 45" and the headroom is less than 39", I won't fit.

6' 5" when naked and wet.

There's also less legroom in the current gen Accord compared to a 2013.

And an Impala has them deeeeeeep footwells.

Kinda wish I could afford a modernish truck that isn't a barebones model.

Suppose I could look into SUV's, but I don't really like them, to be honest. Dumb reason I guess, but there you go.
