Not that enjoyable and pretty forgettable. Yumina the Ethereal - You Don't Have To Be Cinderella ~Tired Mix~ (I'm Not Cinderella) = 2/10 The backing is inoffensive (and part of why this is 2 and not 1) but wow is that singing cringe. I'm more tolerable of animu than some others, but this goes above and beyond. It also happened today just now and I am livid but I'm not letting it stop me from posting this time. Paper Mario Color Splash - Cherry Lake - 5.7 Unremarkable, but pleasant. But unremarkable still. Fine BGM indicative of a good game, which Color Splash is. But nothing more, but still. Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours - Freedom - 7.2 I had an actually good writeup before but I forget the bulk of it now :(. Either way, I get what it's going for and I like what that is, but it is held back by sounding too harsh until the song properly kicks in. Once it does though, I love it. Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom - Opening - 5.6 Too cheesy for even a saturday morning cartoon, I almost audibly winced when the vocals kicked in. I did ease into them, but with reservations. Still keen to try out the game out some time though. Plok - Beach - 8.4 Potentially even underrating this one, god I love Plok's soundtrack. Main reason it's where it is as opposed to higher is because it isn't an entirely balanced package. That's not to say it isn't all really good, it's just that I do nearly get disengaged at one or two particular parts because they hang just barely too long. Youkai Douchuuki / Shadowland - Main BGM - 6.8 Before I lost my post today, I originally said that this was quite an oddity of a song. I stand by that but for a different reason. Originally I felt this was a song with a bit of an identity crisis as a gag weird song that also wanted to be a deep weird song, ultimately failing at both. It kind of is and does, but I feel I was underselling it. This listen I guess I'd label it more as a quirky song that also has a lot to it. Almost carving a name for itself in that latter category from before but not quite, as even when it all comes together, one can't help but feel aspects of its instrumentation were still questionable. Pretty decent all things considered. Yumina the Ethereal - You Don't Have To Be Cinderella ~Tired Mix~ (I'm Not Cinderella) - 4/10 ~Yawn~ (I'm Not Interested). Rating this as a meme song, anime song, and objectively as a song in general,as I feel like the score is inevitably going to land here on all counts. As a meme song, it fails. Not because it's too annoying or cheesy or anything like that. It's because it's just plain and unremarkable. Its gag is I guess its vocals? Except there are tons of anime songs that unironically sound considerably worse in that regard, and plenty that are funnier too. But it's not good either. It's just subpar in general, and a disappointment. Meh. I should nominate that ringtone song in ef or something. As it is, it's just a bit too nondescript, which is a shame because I think it has potential. Madworld - Survival = 3.75/10 Rap / hip hop isn't really my thing. I don't like the vocalist and the song is otherwise kinda bland. The chorus is also slightly annoying. I guess it's not that unpleasent to listen to overall though. Portal 2 - I Saw a Deer Today = 3.25/10 I've grown to like 'weird' music a lot more than I used to, but... I don't get this one. It hardly sounds like a song to me in the first place to me, and I mean that in more of an "why am I listening to this" way, rather than "this is cool" way. Was in a party environment though, so I didn't really pay attention to much of the music. The start of the song is pretty bad, but the second half is solid. I don't like the instruments. SimCity 4 - Epicenter - 7.5/10 Good stuff. Just my style of music. Enjoyed this quite a lot! Always cool when these chill games have some good tunes. The start is pretty middling, but it gets good later on. Patapon 3 - Down and Out Rock - 6.5/10 Man, there's a lot of awesome stuff in this track! But there's also a bunch of weird distortion. Really neat, but I don't like it as much as I could. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Bramble Blast - 8.5/10 A classic.
