Probably the level worst user on this board. HCA boasts the single-worst posting style I've ever seen on this board, and his sheer ignorance in general is pretty astounding. He combines the redneck working class mentality with an impenetrable dialect that seems virtually impenetrable to understand. And his opinions are constantly and without fail some of the worst on the board. I don't think I've ever agreed with a thing HCA says, and I for one am glad that Steiner has taken up the burden of starting APWTs so I don't have to face the sight of an HCA post.

Most recently, I recall a pretty solid joke about how Sony was "monopolizing" Uncharted as a bit of a take on Corrik's misguided notions about Final Fantasy 7. As a person, I absolutely like Stifled. Really friendly guy who I enjoy having conversations with. Definitely a friend on the board. Despite the end result, I enjoyed teaming up with you guys in SMDC. But... but but but, I can't stand the shit he saves in any Save My. Absolutely hate it. Loathe it with a passion. Not a single character among his saves is ever a thing I like. In fact, I sometimes question as to whether I share a common opinion with him at all about characters or media. I think I am counter to his tastes completely.

Which is probably a testament to how nice of a guy he is because I absolutely enjoy chatting with him and always look forward to his write-ups in the film rankings, the whole works.

Some people are Lopen whisperers, where they can find the line between Lopen being completely earnest and Lopen being a devil's advocate. I loooooove talking to Lopen because it keeps me on my toes and helps me learn to better articulate my positions. When it comes to wrestling, I always look forward to Lopen's responses. Hell, he's kept some of my topics alive with sheer force of will, really being a great friend by actually reading and diving into my opinions, whether he cares or not. I feel like there's often a great conversation to be had with Lopen, but I do see the dangers of engaging him when you're not someone who has a similar temperament or at least understanding of his temperament. An acquired taste, but if you acquire it, quite great.

I don't like lefty, but I think it might just be his longtime status on the board as a popular veteran without ever really doing anything interesting. It's not a real opinion, just a bit of that gut resentment you get for people who are entrenched without understanding why. Same as my opinion was on Steiner.

I mostly agree with your take on me.

I'll just say that I very rarely have a conversation about anything exclusively with the intent to be a devil's advocate. At times on a topic I'll accentuate something I disagree with consensus on despite agreeing for the most part, but it's really just I mostly just have a healthy supply of weird opinions on things and generally find it more interesting to discuss those opinions than the stuff where I'm with consensus.

I'm a fan of talking with you too. One of the few people on the board who can (and usually will) disagree with me but have never crossed over into hostility or just dismissing/ignoring/warping my attempt to make a point. I know if I have a discussion with you, even if we don't agree, it'll generally be civil and in good faith. Sometimes you'll just bail out, but that's probably for the best.

I feel like, although I like Rock, he doesn't like me. That's probably fair. I often make snotty comments about his WWE opinions because I'm so jaded by the notion that there is anything good or true left on the main roster, and I bide my time watching other promotions now until AEW really kicks off. I think Rock wants to be more positive about the WWE and a lot of us just don't have the capacity to reward blind, aimless mediocrity. I've seen some BlogFAQs about Rock's personal life, which I find oddly fascinating.

Cool, first person that has been brought up for a little additional material.

Vis joined my RPG group that's going on right now, and at first I was worried that our styles wouldn't mesh. I've found that Vis has been very accommodating to the setting and tone of my story, and I hope I've been equally as gracious. Vis' backstory was the first one in on my campaign, and while I know I tinkered slightly, I really love the potential it has moving forward. Tali is a character that can be played for some laughs, but also there's a graceful simplicity about her, and an innocence that stands in stark contrast to the harshness of the NML. All in all, the result has been rewarding for me as a DM. Hope Vis is loving it at least half as much as I am!

Absolutely yes. It's difficult to identify when that occurs and that's sorta what I meant when I said "warping" in the list of things you don't do, but I've been working on that a while. Reading the politics topic for a while a year or two ago really made me realize that's a thing that happens around here pretty often-- easier to notice when it's happening when it's not happening directly to you. Especially when you're someone like me it's easy to get caught up in that kinda stuff. But yeah it's a kinda thing I have to actively work at to avoid, but knowing it even exists is half the battle and I've been getting better at it.

Iceman has become one of my most recent real friends on the board especially in the last few months where the wrestling discord has taken off. I gotta try and catch him at the G1 show and actually meet him face to face. Iceman is absolutely the perfect addition to the Steiner experience because while they both have extremely huge swathes of wrestling knowledge, they compliment each other with different categories of knowledge. I find that the conversations I have with one or both - or with others, whether it be Ed or Tom or whoever for the most part - are absolutely great. I don't agree with them on every single thing. Far from it. But damn, if they don't enhance my passion for wrestling. Absolutely awesome part of my 2019 B8 experience. I would +3 in UotY.

Oh shit, I didn't even mention Jakyl but he's also a super-MVP of that Discord! The four biggest factors are Jakyl, Iceman, Ed and Steiner (although there are other great participants who just aren't as active). Jakyl is so great.

I'll tack this on - WWE is worse than it's ever been from a heat perspective, and yet thanks to the Discord group, I feel like I'm more into wrestling right now than ever. It's just a great, positive group of people. I think I also sit in a position where I am maybe more in the middle of other peoples' perspectives than the rest of the group. As much as we good-naturedly rag on Eddv from time to time, I really love his passion for the old NWA/WCW style. And I think I'm probably #2 on the Impact train behind him. Steiner has been a great watch buddy, especially for giving me open eyes to WxW and Progress. Absolute treats to watch and he's pretty gracious in chatting about whatever and going with my non-sequiturs. Iceman has massive knowledge and he's probably the easiest to chat with. Jakyl often challenges my perspectives but in a good way, and he's generally got a good pulse on the quality of what he watches (at least from my perspective. The group in general just compliments itself so well.

Eddv is absolutely awesome. He loves comics. He loves wrestling. He loves tabletop RPGs. He's also - in my experience - always been extremely friendly and genial to me. I know there are some people that dislike him, but for my money, he's been pretty excellent conversation. I'd say we've really been friends a couple years now at this point, and to me there are no signs of that slowing down. He's also a Superman defender which is refreshing in a board of Superman haters. I'm not exactly the biggest Superman fan, but I think this board does the character dirty while glorifying the much more poorly-written X-Men. Sometimes you gotta stick to your guns, and Ed unabashedly likes what he likes.

Johnbobb: Obrov, big scary guy. The muscle for our team
War: Rosetta Stone, a girl that can understand any language

IGCD: Mantis, a lexcorp employee (with a gun)
