This is probably the reason girls don't play video games or all the other activities guys do.

The 2+ hours spent on putting on makeup everyday and removing it is the same hours we guys waste playing video games or similar activities. It's just such a long process, that whole routine.

Makeup doesn't take THAT long unless you're being really meticulous, and you only have to do it once and you're set for the day (with some minor touch ups occasionally)

Huh? Makeup is just part of morning routine, like washing face, brushing teeth. It doesn't take any extra time.

Putting on stage makeup for a show takes longer, but that's what dressing rooms are for.

What activities guys do? I maintain my little collection of sports cars, work part-time as an auto technician, take flying lessons, teach in university extension, golf, compete in martial arts tournaments, cook, garden, and play video games. I suppose most guys do more, because eyeliner and lipstick takes 30 seconds out of my day.

I feel take a little extra. At least, compared to people who don't put on make-up. Since it's something extra they don't have to do... Doesn't mean it has to take an hour. Even 5-10 minutes is a little more...

I think guys confuse doing makeup for the fact women in general just take longer all around on their getting ready routine than the average guy. Most but not all women i know take slightly longer showers (long hair does take slightly longer to wash ive had long hair.) long hair im sure takes longer to style or get it how you want. (I personally just always went simple ponytail) make up and thrn picking an outfit. Where as typically men just put on the first good clean thing they see. Only thing men have that women dont is shaving their face.

Of course this all just generalities and wont apply to everyone. I personally take super short showers even compared to other guys. I get in and get to work like I'm getting paid to do it.

I hardly ever wear make-up even when I'm in high femme mode, unless I'm cosplaying. ETTO, but I prefer not to clog my pores with crap like foundation, and my complexion does much better for the lack of it. 5 minutes for lip balm or occasionally gloss, 10 or 15 to handle my hair because it's down to my hips, and that's about it.

I don't waste time with make-up that I could spend on gaming, and nor do the majority of female or feminine non-binary/genderqueer people I know who game regularly. This whole ridiculous topic is based on a fallacy. And a profoundly sexist one at that. If you think only women ever wear make-up, you're mistaken.

my work starts at 5am. i wake up at 4, i mostly just browse the internet for 20 minutes then get ready for work for 10 minutes then leave at 4:30. if im a woman, i may need to wake up at like 2 or 3 and use all that time getting ready.

Y'all really think all women spend 2-3 hours getting ready every day? yike

Ive heard my mom say it and thats about it. Funny considering if I didnt know better id assume she was ten years younger and meanwhile her step brother went gray and balding in his early 40s.
