Unfortunately I tanked my credit to help my family members. Pretty much none of it went towards me.

Call the local humane society. They sometimes have connections that can really help.

If you got a car that's paid for, you can also probably get a used car loan on it to pay for the surgery. I did that to get a down payment on my house without selling my car.

Aren't interest rates on car title loans very high? I don't know if that would be a good idea. In addition to a high vet bill you might lose your transportation.

You wouldn't have a vet bill if you use the car loan. You'd just have a car loan, but rates are alright. Just shop around

Unfortunately I'm still paying off my car. Gonna try to postpone the next car payment to see if I can use this months payment towards the surgery.

Also thank you to everyone that has donated so far and shared the page. I'm honestly in awe at the response I've gotten here.

Yep. I recommend it to clients all the time. No interest if paid off in the promo period as well, so something to look into.

Are there other vets in your area? Maybe call around and see if any of them accept payment plans.

There's 2 others, I'm calling them tomorrow to see. I'll try the gofundme if they give me bad news though.

Was going to say try another vet. Might have go a few cities over and drive an hour or two, but it comes down to how much you love that dog.

Definitely check other vets, their prices can vary wildly. I was once quoted like over $1000 to have my dogs tooth pulled by one vet, only to have another vet offer to do it for almost nothing if they did it while he was under while getting neutered. We decided to do that since he needed to get neutered anyway, and he ended up not even needing to have the tooth pulled at all.

Depends.
I've seen people ask for legit help on there to pay for fixing something and nobody donates. Then you scroll through and you see a guy to lazy to buy his own dinner and people give him $1000.

If you live near any veterinarian schools, you can call them and see if they can help. Some run a low-cost clinic for low income, and if they don't, ask if they know of any that do.

You can also contact your local shelter or humane society to see if they can reduce veterinary care or have vouchers for local vets.

You can also search online for animal welfare organizations that can help you financially with low cost loans and such.

I'm sorry to hear of your situation.

AMAZING NEWS!

The ASPCA agreed to do the surgery for $600! And we got ahold of a grant company that will give us $200 towards the surgery!

That means we only need 100 dollars or so and I'm sure we can manage that!

I love you all for all the support you gave!

This is such a weight off my shoulders.

The only downside to the cheap surgery is that they can't do it until July 16th. Hoping her condition doesn't get too bad before then. :( Though they said we can call them if it does.

Arloe is still able to urinate so the bladder stone hasn't completely blocked her up yet, so I think she'll be able to make it to the surgery on the 16th! Hopefully anyways.

Also I can't make it clear enough how much I appreciate all the support. I originally made this topic just to rant but it turned into good human beings helping out.

The ASPCA is estimating 600 to 700 dollars for the surgery, won't know the exact amount until it's done. The GoFundMe is up to $322 last I checked and I also hear that we might qualify for a grant that will give us $200 towards the surgery. So we're insanely close to what we need.
