22 y/o James Alex Fields Jr, the white supremacist who rammed his car at liberal protesters in Charlottes and killed 1 is BEGGING for LENIENCY as he said he's TOO YOUNG to go to PRISON!!

A memo states he should not spend the "rest of his natural born life" in prison because of his AGE and the fact that he endured a "traumatic" childhood and his history of mental illness..

He entered a guilty plea to federal hate crime law in a deal to spare him the death penalty for killing anti-racism activist, Heather Heyer..but he's NOT REMORSELESS for what he did as well as he shows up in court showing no emotion or apology

The memo continues with "No amount of punishment imposed on James can repair the damage he caused to dozens of innocent people. But this court should find that retribution has limits"

Prosecutors are demanding a life sentence that the avowed Adolf Hitler admirer has shown no remorse since he drove his car into the counter demonstrators as they focused on years of documented racist and anti-semitic behaviour that included a picture of HITLER on his bedside table

They even have recorded audio on his jail phone making disparaging remarks on Heyer's MOTHER who said "that girl's mother is talking to the Dems again, Congress, trying to get anti-white legislation passed"

A former classmate also said Fields spoke of his excitement during a trip to Germany to visit Dachau Concentration Camps and said he came ALIVE when they visited a Nazi concentration camp and said "this is where the magic happened".

Although they noted he was a mental case, it does not excuse his behaviour or actions for a lenient sentence and his lack of remorse and history of substantial racial animus doesn't help

His attorneys said giving him a sentence "less than life" would be an "expression to mercy" and a "conviction that no individual is wholly defined by their worst moments"

They highlighted his "abusive" childhood and difficult upbringing resulted in his mental illness after he was raised by a paraplegic single mother and suffered trauma by his "jewish grandfather" who had murdered his grandmother before committing suicide

But the prosecutors are moving forward with a life sentence stating it iwll demonstrate to those who shared his same hate filled ideologies will be met with severe punisment

Someones past doesn't give them a free pass. You would think because he's had a "rough upbringing" he wouldn't want to inflict his experiences onto others yet here he is. There is no saving him.

22 isn't too young for prison in a country that sometimes sentences 14 y/os as adults. In his case, there *might* be a legitimate mental illness argument.
