Not really interested. I rode on the back of someone's motorcycle when I was like 7 or 8 and I was kinda scared but I did kind of feel like a badass at the same time. But I don't think I'd ever own one.

Always wanted a badass looking chopper...like a Harley Forty-Eight or the Honda Fury. Never been into sportbikes for some reason.

Either way the wife forbids me from owning one. Especially now being a dad. It's also not easy navigating through the shitty roads and terrible drivers here in NJ, so it's probably for the best. Every person I know who owns a bike has told me: "it's not if you go down but when you go down."

Maybe if we relocate down south in the future I can potentially get one someday...

Never took the time and money to learn how to ride one. But have always been interested because you get more speed for your money compared to a car. But I'd probably crash and die, so I guess it's good I never learned.

This one practically has zero chance of turning over due to a turn, its a lot more balanced and heavy, and still faste as well

Yeah, I heard about a group of Marine vets who died on motorcycles recently in New Hampshire during a club rally when a pickup truck hit and killed 7 of them. If they were traveling in seperate cars like they do in car clubs, the death toll would have been much less. Very sad.

Seriously the most comfortable and fun cruiser I've ridden. Has enough power to have fun but not enough to scare you. Relatively cheap , not too heavy, and looks sharp.

No, no interest at all. It's too high risk, I trust my driving, but I don't trust others on the road. If you get hit or hit someone, the survival chance is very slim. It's not worth it to me.

Yeah all that's fine, but I don't know some asshole isn't gonna plow into me while I'm idle at a light. That's what I'm most afraid of. Other drivers are fucking scary.

I own a motorcycle and have only ever had motorcycles. Never drove a car in my life. Never been in a collision. Went down once pretty hard in the rain when I was a newb and didn't really know how to ride in heavy rain but nothing too bad happened to me. Just a broken wrist. I'm 35 now so it's been quite a few miles.

Pitlord_Special posted...

"Getting good" is actually a pretty huge deal when it comes to riding motorcycles. A lot of the dangers from riding are due to being an idiot. Iirc like 30% of motorcycle fatalities happen when the rider is intoxicated. That is a huge percentage and that is easily fixed by not being a scumbag idiot. Even that aside, using some damn sense goes a long way. I've seen countless fucking morons on motorcycles in my day. It's an odd thing to say from a lifelong motorcycle rider but it really is an idiots hobby. You just see so many dumbass motorcycle riders out there.

Typical story. Once I was at a Walgreens getting whatever and as was going to leave I noticed another guy on a motorcycle in the same parking lot. Now this dude clearly had some insecurity issues and was like revving his engage and shit trying to show me up. I just think like "whatever" and get ready to leave. This guy then takes off out of his parking space at an absurd speed(for a parking lot) and he damn near T-bones a car that was pulling in. All that to show off to me. A guy that didn't know him and who did not give a single solitary fuck about him or his motorcycle.

That's just one of countless stories of running into idiot motorcycle riders. So many of them would do a lot better if they did indeed "git gud". To be honest, I get more paranoid around motorcycles then cars because if a car does something dumb around me it's normally because they don't see me and I can drive in a way to minimize that risk. But when motorcycles do something dumb around me it's normally because they intentionally do it because they're fucking pieces of shit. Well, that's my experience in California anyway. Maybe other areas of the country/world have it better.

I bought a ZX10R and had it for one day before crashing it. Got knocked out cold in the middle of an intersection and had some road rash but no breaks or anything terrible. Helmet probably saved my life. I saw it as a sign and fixed the bike and sold it without ever riding it again. Went 156 mph on the way home from where I bought it after never riding a bike other than the practice ones they give you when you take the little course. That was, and still is, the best adrenaline rush I have ever had.

That was a few years ago and I have considered getting one and trying again lately but can't pull the trigger. I know its a risky bad idea but still want one. I'm looking at really small ones though like a Grom to just drive around town and back and forth to work without being able to go too fast.
