I get that you're free to do them in whichever order, but it felt like the game was steering me towards the Zora area first.

Maybe a better way to ask this is: what order did you do them in?

I don't THINK so.

Funnily enough, I did the Zora area first, too.

Game steers you to Zora first, but doing the bird one (Rito?) first is infinitely more useful cause his power is by far the best imo

My first play through was Zora, Gerudo, bird people, Goron

Second was bird people, Zora, Gerudo, Goron

The bird people should absolutely be first. The reward gives you a massive jump that helps make areas much more accessible if you have low stamina. It also can make climbing faster/easier.

Do Zora second.

From there you could probably do either first. Id say Goron then Gerudo personally.

Bird, Zora, Goron, Gerudo is the ideal order IMO

But there's no proper or set order

As said above though, the power gained from the Bird one is by far the most useful

I can totally agree with doing the bird one first but that's the dullest one by far so for the sake of enjoyment, I'd probably recommend doing Zora then Bird, then the rest. Goron then Gerudo doesn't sound too bad, since they're both combat centric. Zora will also make Bird's easier

game kind of pushes you to do the zora one first with all the fish ppl yelling at you to go to the zora's domain if you're in the area

however you should try and do the bird one ASAP, the power you get from that is very useful for exploring

The game was literally designed for there to be no order.

But doing the elephant (Zora's Domain) first makes the rest of the game easier since the gift you get for beating it saves you from death and refills your hearts.

Holy shit that's the exact order I did it in without being realized I was being "pushed" to do them in a certain order. Is the game less "free roam" than I thought?

I did Zora, Goron, Bird, Gerudo.

In any case, they make it easier to do it in a clockwise or counterclockwise order. You wouldn't go diagonally unless you were pre-determined to do so

The game pushes you to do Zora first since its arguably the closest to Kakariko, plus a few side quests that lead you in that direction.

I did Gerudo > Zora > Bird > Goron, based entirely on my preference of locale. (Ive never cared for Gorons or fire levels lol)

The Rito power is easily the most useful of the bunch.
The Zora power is a literal lifesaver in the early game, but becomes fairly useless once your armor and health are higher and you have access to better food.
The Gerudo power is fun and can obliterate some of the stronger enemies so it's nice to have once enemies start getting stronger.
The Goron power seems to make me play worse and has an annoying visual effect.

I recommend you do it in that order. Holding off on the Rito is just making life more tedious than needed. If you get the Zora too late, it'll be useless.

Not really, but yeah, the game kinda nudges you towards the Zora one first. I'd say the easiest Divine Beast is actually the Rito one, though. Quickest quest, easy-ish puzzles, easy boss, and the most useful champion ability. I usually like to go for that one first.

I went Zora, Rito, Goron, Gerudo.

I recommend Gerudo last, because you have to do the quest that will make those Yiga clan members constantly attack you throughout the game during the course of that arc.

I did Zora, Goron, Rito, Gerudo. Made most sense to me from a map perspective. Yeah, the Rito power is helpful, but it felt like cheating, lol. I liked trying to find ways to climb stuff. I did like it, however, when I was exploring the whole map towards the end trying to find all the stuff.

The Rito power breaks the game, IMO. It trivializes exploration and lets you skip huge chunks of content.

I think if there is an intended order, it's based on the memory order. In that case, I think it's Rito, Goron, Gerudo, Zora if my memory serves me right.

I always do Zora, Goron, Rito, Gerudo.

It just...makes sense. You're steered towards Zora, Goron is right next to it, then the path behind Hyrule castle goes to Rito and then from there all that is left is Gerudo.
