I know it was pretty well-loved at the time, and it's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but it just doesn't stand out as being at all remarkable to me. It's just kind of there. I guess 3D Land can be lumped in there as well for the same reason, though that didn't even make it onto the list because I guess it's even more forgettable. Judgmenl posted... Mario 64. It was one of the first 3D platformers ever released, and Nintendo's first foray into the genre. Of course it's going to be rough around the edges. Letting that turn you off of trying anything else from the genre despite the refinements that have taken place over the last 23 (hoo boy I'm old) years is ridiculous, to say nothing of how absurd it is to abandon everything Nintendo's done in every genre since then over it. --- This is my signature. That being said, it doesn't matter as I don't play video games anymore and haven't played consoles in over a decade (since PS2 era). --- Judge, Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. It just hasn't aged well (not graphics wise, controls and mechanics). All of the others I like a lot. --- I am a senior software engineer. They encourage you to use the Water Pack and then they take it away for half the challenges.
