I went and got crappy (really) chineese yesterday, so......I gave up on trying to find good stuff and since pf changes frozen meals were on sale ($5 each instead of 10), I got a bunch to try.

I think I got all the kinds to try eventually, so I will review them individually here as I do!

Feel free to review them as well if you have tried them.

First up is brocolli beef, which is a favorite of mine when actually eating out.

In a weird twist of fate, the beef they use is actually better then any of the beef at local places to me. The sauce is good as well, and it's just brocolli with it (and since I'm cooking it, I can control how soft/well done the brocooli is).

While this wouldn't really rate anywhere on a scale of such food in California, sadly this frozen meal is probably as good, if not better then anyplace I can easily get to near me.

The meat was not fatty and tender, and the sauce was plentiful and covered everything, even the brocolli.

This will probably be my favorite over all, but I rate it as a 9/10 currently...if any of the others are better, I will be shocked.

Seasame Chicken.

Another favorite of mine, but along with a few other regional changes, it seems to usually be in a light sauce, not a dark sauce in the olympia area, tons of veggies (mixed) and non-breaded chicken.

Meanwhile PF Changes is in a dark sauce with light breading. Meat is still high quality (no fat, not tough), and the brocolli again can be controlled by me, so is perfectly done.

Sauce is a big deal for this, and it's quite good. I still like the Brocolli Beef sauce more over all (and the dish better as well), but it's chicken not beef and still quite good....i'm trying to eat less beef (in fact the brocolli beef was the only pf changs I got with beef in it), so this is a good thing.

I could totally eat this fairly regularly.

Rating 8/10 (but 9/10 for healthness)

I've only been twice to a pf changs, but I remember their food being pretty good and I especially liked the honey shrimp.

I might have that next, I already bought it, but the seaseme had just brocolli which I prefer. I'll try it tomorrow!! Thanks for the link.

Wow, that rocks, too bad I didn't know we might have tried to get a place together, although the place where I live is mega cheap, so it's hard to find something comparable.

I'm on the courner of Yelm and College now:) Where abouts are you?

I love that dude lol, Wolf lovers unite!!!

That being said, I'll try the generals next, but...I won't ever buy it again, I didn't not realize it had 64 freaking grams of sugar. I'm diabetic, that could literally kill me. Seriously that is alot of freaking sugar. It's probably mostly because of the sauce, and there is always extra sauce, so maybe it's not REALLY that much.

I will say about the brocolli that I like it extra steamed/soft personally. I was quite able to cook it both times I have tried (brocoli beef and seaseme chicken) without losing the florrets, not sure how he did (and in fact looked like they were still on from the pieces he ate). The brocolli comes out about perfect for me, for frozen (which I do prefer fresh over frozen drastically).

Also, as he mentioned, there is no way this is a meal for 2. This is barely a meal for 1...and I eat WAY less now adays (it would have been a snack for me in my 20's).

Honestly, so far I would recommend making a bag of rice to go with both of the meals I have had, as I don't use even half of the sauce, which would flavor up the rice perfectly. You can get a 3 bag box of instant rice for $2, so it would add less then 1$ to the cost of your meal, and almost double the amount of food.

Then again, the actual calories are pretty large as well, but again, I think some of that is from the sauce.

Also, not sure when he made this, but base price of a bag is currently 9$ (or 10$ depending where you get it). I got them on sale for 5 luckily.

Sadly, again, compared to the options around here, both of the meals I have had are better then anything I have had. There is one semi-decent place called seasons teriyaki waaay over on martin and marvin road, but it's a good 20+ min drive, and the food is only meh (barely worth paying for).

I certainly would never have recomended frozen chineese when I lived in California, but sadly there are no options here, so....gotta rate it based on what you can get if your in this area.

I may start heading to seattle, Tacoma and Portland in the near future in search for better food. I discovered it's about 15$ total to take a bus/train combo to any of those locations (Train being about $5 each way, and the bus being the main difference in costs from there). While it certainly adds both a ton of time, and some cost, the ability to actually get a decent meal...is probably worth the 4+ hours travel time and extra $15 or so bucks.

Finally got around to trying the general changs chicken.

Mostly agree with wolfe's video, this is not one of the better frozen dinners to buy.

First it's extremely sweet, I didn't even notice the kick that wolfe said he got from the sauce. That is probably why there is so much sugar in it. Luckily if you don't eat most of the sauce, you probably avoid most of the sugar.

Meanwhile because they added bell peppers there is less chicken and brocolli compared to the sessame chicken, which is better in every way. More actual food, better sauce, waaaay less sugar.

I would not buy this one again. You could eat it in a pinch but the other two I have tried were both significantly better then this, even the "nuggets" didn't taste as good (no clue why as they look exactly the same).

Rating this one a 4/10 (this is just a pf-changs rating scale, with Brocolli beef so far in the lead with a 9/10).

I'll probably try the orange chicken next, but....I don't have high hopes. Orange chicken pretty much requires crunchy friend chicken with a sauce that covers it....soggy chicken nugets are not going to work with it, and the sauce.....only works for me at least, in combo with the crunchiness. We'll see though (probably won't have it tomorrow...these are not good enough to eat back to back, not filling enough for dinner, and I really want to have a salad tomorrow instead.
