No way. The game is subpar in many ways. First off, they should not have locked the hard and nightmare difficulties (you have to know about the cheat to unlock them from the getgo) by default.

The game wants you to farm shards/loot yet you end up inevitably leveling up as a result. Then, the game becomes a cakewalk to the point that you can just walk through levels.

Playing on Hard/Nightmare, the game is more fun, but it still feels like a bore to play. The gameplay feels bland often times. On a less important note, the graphics look really strange- it's like a PS 1.5 feel and the 2D-3D blend doesn't work well here.

Why would a indie game be better than Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5 or Days Gone. There is also Borderlands 3, Gears 5, The Outer Worlds and Death Stranding all out this year. At best it could be in the run for the Switches game of the year but that's it.

but I feel like some of the enemies aren't very fair in terms of their reach and your dodge movement

there are some enemies that are so hard it's easier to run by them

i think Sekiro deserves GotY, it's probably the best game ever made for people who like kung fu and sword battles

RE2 was good, but it doesn't have much replay value
Soul Caliber 6 is great
Death stranding will probably be decent

Most of the games people want to play will come out next year tho like dying light 2 and TLoU2

Its got a ton of games towards the end of 2019 to contend with though like Borderlands 3, Outer Worlds, Death Stranding, etc

Yeah because Symphony of the Night was so damn hard!!!

Jesus this game is harder than Symphony of the Night overall, people act like the older games were so damn challenging.

normal

most of the game is cake walk but there are some enemies that have weird reach or really high health that make them difficult

No, it's a fun game, but it's not the kind of game that people give those awards to

Not like those awards matter, so go enjoy fun games that won't win awards

Sekiro and Resident Evil 2 Remake were both excellent, albeit short games. Aside from Cyberpunk I'm not sure what else will be able to compete with these 2.

It is mine so far, but it is really the type of game I love, considering I have SOTN and Super Metroid as 2 of my favorite games of all time.

The only other game this year I can think of is Sekiro, and to me that was fun but not as good as Dark Souls or Bloodbourne. Stellaris console edition maybe, but not sure that should be considered.
