Well, to bring up something different, there was an eShop game called Affordbale Space Adventures that was a decent puzzle game.

If you don't mind remasters being brought up, the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD remasters were good.

Monster Hunter is good if you don't have access to other MH games.

One thing to note about Wind Waker is you have to aim things like the grappling hook with either the right thumb stick or motion controls, so really unless you use motion controls you have to equip such items to the R button which could be cumbersome if you want more than one item that you aim with...

I personally really liked Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. I've also been told that the WiiU version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution is pretty good; it has some actually clever gamepad integration.

It seems ripe for getting a Switch port.

Tropical Freeze is a legit masterpiece. Pikmin 3 is another one of my favorites. Splatoon is still fairly active on the rare occasion I jump back in but it's only Japanese players left. I'd still recommend picking it up if you can find it somewhat cheap and don't have a Switch to play Splatoon 2 instead. A lot of the other games mentioned in this topic are good too but those are my top three.

Funny thing is theres actually yakuza 1 and 2 on Wii u game if your into that series but sadly an import which would be a pain in your ass since its fully Japanese. Heard that port isnt polished as the ps3 version sadly but yakuza games are really fun tho. But the ps4 games are there now so I guess it's just pointless for me typing this lol

I guess the rest u can just try indie games/ports in the eshop that got ur interest. Sadly wished Wii u had more games.

Idk if you'll even like paper mario. Altho the first two games are far better than the Wii U game.

But yeah, it's one of those kinds of games that can be cringy if you don't like JPop nonsense, but has pretty fun gameplay mechanics. Kinda reminds me of FFX-2 in a way.
