Outside of these two new seasons.

A show that could do 20+ hour-long episodes a season with a limited budget and still be great. What the hell happened to those days?

I have zero interest to see this very latest season which is a shame because I loved the original run (even named our cats Mulder and Scully)

Haven't watched it either and quit Midway through season 10....

Hell, I even loved Robert Patrick taking over. The actress for Reyes, not so much.

Show has a lot of monster of the week episodes and they tend to be more cringe than other shows because of the "the truth is out there" tagline.

Well I mean they basically earablished MOTW for a drama and they are fantastic episodes for the most part.

I dunno, stuff like the native american werewolf shit and the faith healer episode in season one is super cringe.

I find it hard to watch these days.
It revolutionized how tv was done and is certainly at the basis for current shows. But each time I try to rewatch I end up dropping it a few episodes in.
IMO it's one of those shows like OG Star Trek in that it was groundbreaking at the time but other shows have surpassed it in its field since then.

Don't get me wrong, the mythology went to shit in later seasons. The whole Samantha conclusion? Yikes. The re-tread in season 9? Yikes.

That said, for the most part there is a lot of fantastically written, directed and acted episodes.
