the 2019 Orioles won a game 13-0 today. that seemed kinda crazy to me until i checked the 2018 Orioles - they actually won a game 17-1. May 13th against the Rays. i guess even the absolute worst teams are as good as any other team on their absolute best days.

The Red Sox started their deferred payments to Manny Ramirez in 2011 at $1,968,677.

That payments continues through 2026 at 2.5% interest.

Chris Sale agreed to receive $50 million in deferred payments from the Red Sox.

He will receive $10 million annually on June 30th from 2035-2039 and if club exercises 2025 option, $5 million is deferred until 6/30/2040.

The Red Sox will give Dustin Pedroia $18 million in deferred payments, $2 million every year in 2021-2024 and $2.5 million every year in 2025-2028.

Pedroia and Sale are just straight cash deferral - those guys have salary cap numbers higher than the amount Uncle Sam is seeing. Those are win-win contracts unless you think they were under market value.

Sutter's contract is a fun one because they just dumped his salary into an annuity. It was a bad deal for Sutter except for tax implications at the time, though that 12% is pretty bad for Atlana in recent decades(!!).

Remember in April, when Jacob Rhame did not throw at Rhys Hoskins and was ejected (without warning)?

The Phillies have apparently not got over this incident as they've hit approximately 13 mets since then. Tonight, Arrieta hits Frazier early on. Later, he hits Frazier again, and Frazier starts barking at him. The benches are warned but Frazier is ejected for some reason??? For yelling at the guy trying to hit him with a baseball?

LITERALLY very next batter, Arrieta plunks Rosario right on the knee and is STILL NOT EJECTED.
