I havent even looked at the challenges. I probably wont care except for the rank ones. Maybe.

Yeah some challenges are a bit nonsense lol. I did them all, and finished all except getting the cat ears (infinite ammo for Ghost survivors) by only shooting 60 bullets in the final Ghost Survivors mission. But I played it a ton >_>

Just try getting the infinite weapons, infinite knife, handgun and smg aren't hard, infinite minigun and rocket launcher are a bit harder, but feasable. Then do Hunk and the tofus, but mostly Hunk. Ghost survivors is fun too. Then you're good :]

Yeah, while fun, I would have preferred an infinite magnum. Or even better, an infinite "item" like in RE7, that you equip in a slot and allowing to you use infinite whatever weapon you like most :( Like the cat ears from Ghost survivors.

A shame Hunk doesn't have any infinite ammo thingie, now THAT would have been fun.

Agreed, kind of a missed opportunity there (infinite ammo item). I was expecting more in the way of DLC for this game, I would have bought it up in a heartbeat. A randomizer mode would have been amazing.

As a super fan it was kinda cool to see Elza Walker but it mean of them to put that behind a paywall.

Speaking of DLC, I think the original RE2 costumes are free DLC if you're interested TC

Are the Ghost Survivor things supposed to be paid DLC? I already see 3 scenarios there (with what appears to be, gun shop owner, that 22 year old girl Irons mentioned in his hunting journal, and one of the umbrella commandos sent to apprehend Birkin.) I dont have Hunks scenario though.

There's 4 scenarios in Ghost Survivors, you have to finish the first 3 in order for the 4th to appear.

Then you have 4th Survivor, which is Hunk, the Umbrella sexeh. Clear Hunk (it's pretty fun, but can be pretty frustrating), you unlock the same run but with the Tofus.

That was one of the all-new locations they added to the game (wasnt in the original). I liked that they gave Sherry and Ada their own unique locations for their playable sections. In the original they just shared the same small section and it was kinda weak.

Really Claire just gets an extra pistol, remember Leon gets a 1911 .45 for his 2nd Run too. But she does have different ammo types for her revolver and grenade launcher...so yeah her weapon situation is a bit more convoluted.

The Spark Shot is really strong against her final boss (penultimate boss for 2nd run). Its effective against G2 too, if you can fully charge it...

No that's cause you compare Claire B with Leon A. In Leon B, Leon will also have his extra weapons.

The sparkshot isn't mandatory indeed, but it's a solid option against G4 Birkin.

It wrecks G2 as well if you use the catwalk cheese strat. In any case, its certainly more useful than it was in the original lol.

Did not realize B-route has more guns. That being said the SLS-60 is actually a beast with the new ammo.

Yes it is :) Its basically equivalent to Leons Desert Eagle without its Long Barrel or Red Dot. I like to save it for bosses.

Ive also apparently missed a bunch of Mr Raccoons. Since I wont have Leon B for a while Im debating what to do with this (Im pretty sure Im missing the Ada and sewer gator one)

That kind of sucks. Do you have any previous saves from that run?

Yes, but I probably saved over the ones that matter. I did a lot of saves in Leon A. I had like 33, compared to the 10 I have in Claire B.

Honestly I havent needed the knife.. and you still lose it when you counter with it (you have to kill to get it back)

Yeah I find that the more I play the game, the less knifing I do. Its good for G1 though, and you can use the infinite knife and still get an S+ rank which is nice. But not necessary, since you find 2 knives before G1 that you can use.

One of my favorite Easter Eggs is that in the original game due to poor translation, the party stuff around Leon's desk said "Wellcome Leon!"

And RE2 fans made fun of it.

In this version the sign is now hanging on the ceiling and says "Wel come Leon"
But if you look there is a slight gap between the "l" and the "c"

If you then look at the desk beneath the letters, you see another "l" directly beneath the gap showing that it has fallen off.




That's attention to detail and fanservice with a passion. I love it.

There's a lot of cool stuff like that. The Attention to detail in this game is great, both in of itself and as a remake.

Another fanservicey change is that in the original you find a letter from Chris in the police station openly talking about taking down Umbrella in Europe.

A lot of people made fun of it for the fact Chris knows that Umbrella ultimately runs the RCPD yet he openly leaves these letters lying around

So in this version they turned it into a letter about Chris being "On Holiday In Europe" as at least some kind of cover.

Mixing

Pick up and save the blue ones for full heals and guard later

Yeah, they should have used the poison mechanic more. Theres a special zombie type in Ghost Survivors that also poisons you. Mixing the blue and red herbs grants you that damage resistance effect though which is nice.

Also I finally unlocked my Raccoon City Native record last night! All I have left is the Gunslinger record for Ghost Survivors.

Yeah, I just looked up how to solve the solution puzzle. That and the wire puzzles both pissed me off the first time more than any of the other ones.

Claire is also in Code Veronica (can technically be considered the real RE3) and Revelations 2.

Oh yeah, I forgot there's a butt-ton of spinoffs for these games.

I still took 6 hours to beat the game. Idk if I will try to go for S+ ranks. I'll definitely do the other route + try to do ghost survivors (I couldn't make myself go through all of the Ada stuff in 4 last time I played so I hope it doesn't turn out like that).

Yeah, unfortunately Jill and Claire kinda got shafted after RE3 and CV. Would have been cool if they were brought back for RE6 but they opted to introduce more new characters.

Its not terribly difficult to get S+ ranks,
you dont have to play exactly like a speed run but you cant waste time either and youll definitely be skipping stuff.

She comes back in CV and REV2 as the user said.

But there actually is a reason she doesn't come back much. In universe the plot is people like Leon and Chris become full time special forces agents fighting zombies and shit.

Claire gets involved more politically, trying to make governments aware of the zombie/bio weapon problem and forms a nurse task force to help deal with outbreaks

Claire doesn't consider herself to be a fighter.
