I mean yeah, it was stupid as fuck of Cameron to allow it in the first place. But given that it was advisory and they dont actually have to go through with it, the current government should make the best of the fucked up situation and say that it turns out that leaving would be too damaging to the UK and that they arent going to do it.

Like say that the UK had voted for a non-binding resolution to lock up all of the Welsh. You wouldnt shrug your shoulders and say oh well, the people have spoken!

BTW, I still think my solution is the best way of doing no deal - England secedes from the UK, then the rest of the UK revokes Article 50. Northern Ireland and Ireland are reunified with home rule for NI. The Kingdom of Scotland retains the UK's place in the EU.

I didn't say he didn't think he was doing good things. Both corrik and QAnon folks think he is doing good things, both are wildly wrong about it. It's hard to say if it's more stupid to think he is moral or to think an obviously immoral and self serving man will do good things, but I certainly respect people who actually care about the president being a just man more than those who think the president is about running a business.

Are you claiming that people really expected to get a Norway-type deal? The EU has never said that was an available option. As for the leave campaign making big promises they couldn't keep, really, someone who bought those promises is in the same position as someone who really believed Mexico was going to pay for the wall. But we must presume that the voters are intelligent, and therefore must presume that they did not make their decision based on believing lies.

And anyone could have foreseen that the EU wasn't going to accept a deal where the UK got to keep all the benefits it liked about the EU while leaving all the things it didn't like. So whatever the leave campaign may have promised we must presume that this was not believed by the voters.
