What is wrong with all of you lol. Then again, my answer has to be various B8NFLL stuff (counts since it is done in Madden 06) that have contributed to well over 1000 hours spent on it over the past 5+ years.

If that isn't in the spirit of what you are looking for, probably grinding for levels in some JRPG back when I played several of them in the early-to-mid 2000s.

100% the support log in FE Awakening.
And that's the easy one to do that in.

It's absolutely nothing compared to that feat in GBA, which I'm not trying.

GBA is actually easier cause there are way less supports and no child-parent supports. Certain map groups make it not too bad to grind out the turns and if you overshoot turn grinding you can double down cause you can get the support on turn 1 of the next map. So if you get say 3 guys to C, you can savescum B->A for the set of three by doing one map 3 times.

I mean that sounds like a lot of work but because there are so many fewer to grab it's easier I'd say. Without the parent->child supports I probably favor Awakening though

I just got KOSMOS the other day. I started a new file, and got all the rare blades... except Ursula, the blade I have been trying to get the entire game since chapter 4. I see KOSMOS pop up, and tell my husband to buy a lottery ticket. (He actually did, but it didn't win anything.)

Obtaining the ultimate fishing trophy in LOTRO, as it involved building the relatively useless fishing skill to max levels which takes many many hours, offers nothing more than a cosmetic title and trophy furniture for your house, and in a game with lots and lots and lots of mindnumbing tasks (killing # of enemies, doing x quests in an area) for turbine points to use to buy even more content, there were no monetary rewards for any portion of it.

I loved it though, and fondly remember some of my latter days playing spending hours in Angmar, a volcanic and drake filled hellbowl, fishing with my little Oktoberfest hobbit and chatting with my guildmates.

Endless hours trying to get legendary shinies in pokemon Emerald & Fire Red

Attempting a respectable speedrun of the original MGS for an entire summer and while certainly achieving satisfying results it just becomes a mindnumbing few hours with incredible rage enduring moments and I never got that close anyways in the end

Spending countless hours to fi ally clear Through the fire and the Flames on Expert in Guitar Hero. 8 minute song with maybe 60 seconds of real challenge once you become a good player

Probably practicing 100 super jumps.

I downloaded a more difficult romhack of Pokmon Red, beat it, then started trying to fill my pokdex and raise every pokmon to level 100. It was peak neurosis.

Ursulas quest was really easy!

I've done the daily challenge in Rayman almost every day for almost two years now.

Haven't even beaten the game yet, just been doing the daily challenges for most of the time I've owned it. At 5000+ points so I'll soon be at the 6000 points for the level 11 trophy, well I might actually have enough to stop now since I don't have any diamond trophies from the teensies and haven't played any of the last world/origin level paintings but I'm being overly cautious about collecting as many points as I can to be sure. Luckily I managed to get 2 diamond trophies from glitched challenges so I don't have to worry about that trophy either.

Though tbh, I enjoy doing challenges more than playing the main game >_>. I dunno if I'll even try to get the platinum after all the work I've put into the daily challenge.

I'd say the worst was spending several days-weeks grinding stars in tipping stars before miiverse shut down. Like, I still didn't get enough to buy everything and I don't really feel like actually playing the main game.

Probably losing 500 fights or whatever in Brawl or Melee (forgot which one) to unlock one of the stages.

I have 300 days /played in EverQuest, mostly as a cleric playing whack-a-mole with health bars while staring at a wall so my computer didn't lag.

I challenge anyone to beat that.

And this is why I never bothered pursuing that 11th level of awesomeness trophy. It's a fantastic game but the ridiculous insanity of that trophy leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth to be honest.

For what it's worth I think you have enough to play the main game to get the points you need, but don't quote me on that.

Dude. You must have wasted your time for nothing because they are literally invincible even if you gamesharked your party to level 99 and max stats which I did on a second playthrough.

I have done a lot of mind numbing grinding in JRPGs back in the day but of recent memory, it was grinding for all Skill Points in Sekiro.

Yes I did waste my time. I'm talking the literally invincible one. But at least the levels were kept.

I did eventually gameshark them to test it though.
