Usually, my girlfriend and I will plan two meals per week for exactly that reason. It can get a bit fiddly sometimes to fit two nights of cooking around our schedules, but being able to alternate and/or have a choice each night is nice.

That would probably work. As long as I had two (or maybe three certain weeks) different meals, I could do that.

Ive noticed that if I eat the same thing multiple nights in a row, I actually start eating less and less. But, as long as I get like a day in between, I eat a normal amount.

We started out only doing one giant meal when we started living together, but aside from the sheer hassle of making 14 servings of anything in one go, we very quickly got sick of having a full week of the same thing every night. Doing two different meals just works better.

I do agree it would get annoying. Though, I guess it's probably pretty fresh. I've heard of many people doing this, though...

I can understand this when it comes to fresh food somewhat. Anything other than that though not really. It also sounds a hassle. Then again I'm way too lazy to do shopping everyday. Even more so if I worked. Food shopping once a week is enough. Cooking everyday though? Nothing wrong with that. Even more so if cooking is your actual job.

Do people in the UK do shopping like that? Like buying food daily for meals? I only ask because someone mentioned something about that once...

I see no set rule. Some folk shop everyday where as others once a week, fortnight or even month. Those who shop everyday probably do so because they buy fresh for the most part I'd imagine. Even if they don't it's not difficult to nip into a shop and pick up a few things when they are out and about. Of course some folk shop online too. I'd just be way too lazy to shop everyday. I find shops to be annoying for the most part too. Different strokes, different folks.

Yeah. I don't like crowds much when shopping. I have done the shopping everyday thing, though. But it was at night after work. I mostly kept forgetting things. I feel like it's more expensive, though. But, I could probably make it cheaper since I can get more coupons... Then again, I'd probably get tired of going everyday. Especially when I work more than one job in a day...

It's not more expensive than meal planning. I live walking distance to a good grocer. It's just easier considering we have several standing night outs with friends. And it eliminates the heavily expressed sentiment in this topic that eating the same thing all week gets dull.

I enjoy meal prepping. It is easy and fun and allows me to try new things. I don't do it every week, but more often than not. Just be careful how much you prep. Some meals can't safely sit in your fridge beyond 5 days or so. Freezing stuff you prep is an option too.

Weirdly, I think its the opposite for me. I think not meal prepping is what allows me to try new things. Haha.

I don't stick to a dedicated schedule either, but I agree, I do like trying new meals! I was much better at it a few years ago, down to making breakfast burritos to freeze for up to 2 weeks of meals. I think I could make it more of a routine if I consistently rotate recipes to prep. It'd be better on my wallet over time, too.

I like trying new stuff, but cant meal prep it. Only because if I dont like it, that 2-3 meals for the week gone. So, usually, I buy enough ingredients to make it once (or twice if I think I might mess up)...
