I feel like their Kai videos aren't as funny. They try to push the "abridged version of an abridged version" angle a little too much and feels like they throw a lot of undercooked jokes in. Also might be due to series fatigue.

I did get a couple chuckles in though. Like Perfect Cell getting mad that his best scenes are getting skipped and Gohan being told he peaked this season.

i didn't really care for it. like first DBZA thing i've said that about. i liked part 1 and 2. 3 i think was the start of me not really caring much about it but 3.5 was just meh.

Do they still basically just do the series as normal albeit with a few different lines

normal abridged yea. it was more abridged earlier on but android and definitely cell saga were pretty much just their own version of it. few jokes and stuff but basically just their own dub of it.

I dunno how they can still do this, thought Toei would shut them down. They're making a lot of money basically redubbing the show.

probably a combination of legal agreements, fair use protections for parodies, and the fact that they make their money from patreon rather than advertisements.

Toei does regularly shut them down. They just often get the copyright strikes reversed (eventually)

Heck, they got official work on the Funimation dub, but Toei found out and refused to allow what they did to be aired.

TFS is just a group of talentless hacks who leech off a copyright they don't own in any capacity. Toei is 100% in the right to shut them down. How funny that TFS says that they go on breaks from DBZ Abridged because they "need" to try out different things, but they always come back to it in the end because they know it's the only way for them to stay relevant.
