It feels weird saying this about a Tarantino film but... that was kind of a cute movie? I feel like the trailers made it seem kinda pompous so I came into the film skeptical, but the actual product was delightful & rife with lovable characters and hilarious, lighthearted humor. Im glad QT applied his characteristic carnage scenes more conservatively this time around... it gave the climactic scene a bigger sense of payoff, and the sense dread emanated from the ranch scenes added to the payoff as well. Ending was beautifully bittersweet & perfectly encapsulated the films identity as an idealistic love letter to Hollywood. I originally gave it an 8/10, but after a day of contemplation... I think Im gonna upgrade it to a 9. Oh yeah also, while the acting in the film was good all around, I feel I should give a special mention to Dakota Fanning. For some reason I never really had any strong opinions about her as an actress, but despite only having a few minutes of screen time, she gave a terrifying, transformative performance that I think will stick with me for a while - really caught me off guard!

I loved it. It's clearly his most personal material. He was 7 living in LA when those murders changed everything. Rick Dalton is basically Burt Reynolds who Tarantino idolized as much as anybody

It was a great movie, could've easily been cut more shorter, but the call back and homages to the older films was very much welcomed. It honestly felt like a Cohen brother movie, until I saw all those feet scenes (confirming he does indeed have a foot fetish). Funny enough, one of my friends wanted to walk out of the movie when he saw the Bruce Lee scene as disrespectful. I tried to explain to him that was the POV of Brad Pitt's character, so that probably wasn't how it turned out. The probable only true thing about that flashback was that his character got fired.

Cliff beating the shit out of everyone with Vanilla Fudges "You Keep Me Hangin' On" playing was great. I've loved that song every since I heard it on Mad Men.

Loved the ending and a big Tarantino fan, but there were scenes in the movie that could have been cut out. A lot of it just didn't resonate with me at all, particularly anything to do with Margot Robbie.

I would've been fine with the movie being even longer tbh.

The pacing is one of the best parts. I love driving around with Cliff or hanging with him at the trailer or on Rick's roof

I thought it was really good too. Was actually a little disappointed when I first finished it, but it was really because I was expecting a more... Tarantino-esque movie.

All the Manson stuff felt like it would be more important, whereas it was kind of just thrown in so we could have a more physical conflict at the end.

Not my favorite Tarantino film but it was good for sure. Definitely gives off a sense of optimism that his movies usually don't contain.

Well the main purpose of her was to throw off the audience assuming that Sharon Tate would share the fate of the real life Sharon Tate. But also someone suggested that she's representative of the new generation of actors. She's really embraced the Hollywood lifestyle and is clearly enthusiastic about being a movie star. Compare that to Rick who's struggling to rejuvenate his career.

I loved all the bait and switch that happened. They kept building up the tension for what many thought would be the inevitable conclusion, and then BAM like a can of dog food to the face.

Also I was actually more excited for Brad Pitt's role going in, but I think Leo as Dalton ended up really stealing the show. Really enjoyed his scenes on the set of Lancer.

Yeah and where in real life she was cut short, she (and the innocence she represents) is allowed to live on and flourish in this fairy tale. The Mansons are not allowed to become cultural boogeymen. Tarantino uses cinema's power to overshadow reality to obliterate the legend of the Mansons.

Yeah Leo was great. I think we all know who the real star of the show was, though...
