Calling it now, the DLC characters are gonna be the Fire Emblem Heroes and Warriors originals so they can be in a proper FE game.

I would be totes cool with Muspell High School fire emblem. Plus Alphonse is one of the better FE lords

I think this was the first FE game Ive beaten since sacred stones.

Rewinding time made battles so much more enjoyable, not because they were easier but you didnt have to spend 15 minutes every move making 100% sure nobody was going to die. If you accidentally missed a vantage ability or something silly you could just oops backwards.

Even pre-release, Edelgard looked like a good choice for Smash because she was an axe-user, of which Smash has none in the traditional sense (a few characters have an axe in their arsenal, but not as their primary weapon). Now that she is the most popular character in a game that is heavily trending, they'd be foolish not to include her.

BUT, and I've said this all along, I dont think she is part of the Fighter's Pass because of timing and the pattern of characters we've seen so far. I think after the FP is done, they'll do Edelgard as a standalone, then have another Ballot, bringing the total number of DLC fighters to 8.

This plus the enemy focus info make this game such a delight to play. At first it felt like way too much information but it just strips so much tedious bullshit out of playing that I think I'd feel weird going back to the earlier games and not having it.

If there's a second set of DLC characters for Smash Ultimate, then a Three Houses rep is a mortal lock. A creative way to do it would be having each lord implemented in a Pokemon Trainer-esque fashion, but failing that it's probably Byleth and/or Edelgard.

We're probably long overdue for a Fire Emblem standalone fighting game

Actually FEW2 seems pretty likely doesn't it? Koei already has all the models, lots of the voicework could be recycled, and every single character has individual running animations.

Smash is definitely the bulk of Ike's popularity. His games sold like utter shit, he doesn't have a big fanbase from them (they're also on systems that are much more taxing to emulate than most of the series, so he's not pulling in extra fans that way). People who like them are vocal about it, but the two of them combined sold less than almost every other individual game in the series.

Sold like ass but he's still the most popular FE character because everybody loves him. His games not selling just makes his popularity more remarkable. His games did low numbers but those who played them are united in support of Ike (and the games). He got into Smash because he was popular. There is much more to his popularity than Smash, hence why he is more popular than Marth and Roy.

Finishing up the last chapter, and I have to say, I appreciate how much they make edelgard unambiguously, no grey area, just the most evil person ever. Despite that, you're free to join her on a warmonger path and support her as a tyrant. It's kind of a breath of fresh air after having corrin support a mad king and having "but corrin is still a really good guy and really kind" being forced into every nook in the story. I also like how the route itself uses propoganda to make it seem like the church is evil to the actual players of the game. When I first learned of the route, I remember a bunch of comments of people who smugly were saying they picked this route because they "knew the church was evil" which means this is a game that actually manages to radicalize its own players into people who commit atrocites and think they're making the right choice. Its actually geniunely scary in concept and I don't think I have ever played a game that successfully did that

I opened the door and Reposition'd in a stealer

the chapter didn't end, I ran the stealer out and came back with a prepared group and just killed him, then round ended, with 1 goon left over (the healer in that small cell top-left with a teleporter and a healing platform)

When mastered, Steal is the given equipable ability so that was my case - first thing I spent my Renown on in NG+ was remastering Thief for just that Death Knight prep
