Got a dupe Locke Chain today. Too bad it was a dupe but eh, still pretty happy about yesterday's awakening.

Japan's 5A banners are up. The first thing I noticed was Quistis's awakened mode is water/bio with a dual enelement (basically the first attack you use after the awakening gets chased with an enelement). I wonder if they might start to give bio some real support soon? Beating Bio Odin for real is probably still not realistic, but if they had an elemental chain or one other 8 character with good bio...

Beating bio Odin is realistic, just very niche. The main way people (legitimately) beat Bio Odin is through Zidane Awakening, Stiener Realm Chain, and Vivi and Marcus USBs.

Though most people in Japan just imperil him and use OP synchros or awakenings to overwhelm him.

Has that actually been done? I've thought about the IX team before but it doesn't seem like you have enough damage. There's no bio boosting magicite and no bio boosting armor(!), Zidane has to be able to break savage mode L3 with out those and no enBio. You only get 15 seconds of awakened mode to work with (with a 5* ability!) but at least his instant casting does help you. You have no bio AOSB/OSBs as finishers in phase 3. Also Steiner's contributing very little because he has to either use a 1 hit, 4* bio spellblade or an off-element ability just to boost the chain.

It seems more doable once Vivi's AASB is out just because you can use that for the cap break and his USB for doublecast... but getting enough gauge to do that is a challenge, because 5* abilities generate less. Definitely would be a fun challenge to try, but I don't have the key pieces (Zidane AASB, Steiner Chain, Marcus USB)

It is I've seen a Japanese video of it somewhere on Youtube. Also Phase 3 is weak to all elements which is where Vivi and Zidane release their AOSBs to kill the third phase (with Zidane's finisher from his USB2) Steiner is mostly dead weight outside of his chain but he's the magicite/Fabula Mage duty and then contributes with 6* spellblades at the third phase.

Oh I also should have mentioned it's either Vivi or Marcus, usually Tyro is in one of their slots.

I have Ingus chain but it sucks for Odin, and Ingus is lousy as a DPS unless I get his Awakening. I need a gen2 one so hopefully Emperor and Auron will still be together. I probably have the DPS characters with Terra and Noctis Awakenings (or Rinoa Brave if I chose to go full mage team, with her and OK AOSBs to clear the last phase, or Bartz USB2 for physical with Noctis) but breaking that Savage mode is the problem with Ingus's wimpy chain holding me back.

Looks like Auron chain is on Banner 1 with Tyro/Elara and he's now paired with Hope chain instead of Emperor, though I could use a better holy chain than WoL.

Looks like I have to go all out on that banner despite no DPS awakenings and a couple of dupes, ugh.

Huh. First banner adds two chains I could use, but removes two awakenings I wanted. And for some reason cuts Mog's USB for the Tyro USB that everyone already has. I guess I probably still do one pull here. Although I don't really like Hope and Auron, I would much rather have Edward and Gilgamesh's chains for those elements.

Meia/Firion/Orlandu banner was one I was already thinking of pulling on and that one gets clearly better by adding Lightning AASB, although they do the completely bizarre change of replacing Firion USB3 with his USB1. This one's probably worth a pull although again, I'd rather have Strago's chain instead of Gogo (V)'s and that one's available pretty soon on the Black Chocobo Water banner 2.

I hate passing on a Lucky Draw, but Awakenings are such a huge power surge that I can't see a half-price guaranteed offensive USB as competition for a full-price dice roll on a festival banner with a couple of Awakenings and maybe Chains.

I am still leaning towards a draw on the AOSB banner, though. They're not... they aren't... well, okay, really it's just a "I don't want to skip ALL the luckies" thing.

The main issue with the USBs luckies is that the pools are too big, and if you're a veteran in 5* Magicite you probably have most of what you need.

AOSB is still worth doing since you'll want them for torment sub30s and Odin, and most of them are nice stat sticks anyway.

Also I think I've changed my mind and will probably go all in on banner 5 instead, even if I do need a fire chain badly. I think the only dupe I actually have is Vaan USB 1 and Vaan is one of my luckier characters (too bad he lacks infusion) If I want any shot at Titan I'll have to pull there anyway.

This. More specifically an earth chain (Arc USB dupe on the FF III draw), as I'm pretty sure I could beat Quetz but am afraid that I won't be able to do enough damage without one. Wouldn't mind a gen 2 ice chain also.

There's a 500 gem Brave USB select tomorrow, you can get Sarah's Brave USB there.

I'm still deciding which one to pick, it's between Firion, Jihl Nabaat or Y'shtola.

Firion is some much need FF2 DPS, and fire/holy brave would help against Mateus and Deathgaze, and it's an ice boosting hat!

Nabaat's brave is crazy good for imperil, and would help make Madeen a consistent sub30, it also helps a ton on Dark-Weak Odin from what I've heard. It might even help with the 13 torment increasing the damage on Raines BSB command 1.

Y'shtola would help me get the FF14 torment, I think it's the only major tool I need for it, but at the same time would I really ever use it outside of that? FF14 is currently the rarest realm event in foresight so even CM and Dreams are a long ways.

I already have Y'shtola's so it's probably Sarah for me, although I also have the crazy idea of taking Rydia's just to complete her (I'm missing a couple other things but they're all selectable... although I'd kind of hate using lenses on her horrible LMR1).

Probably skipping the AOSB lucky too because there are just too many things in the pool and only a few that I really want (Sephiroth, Terra, and Bartz mainly). They're not really useful unless you have an awakening for the character and 20 hit ones are a lot better than 3 hit. Although they can still be useful on Torments with just a USB or even a BSB I guess.

I got Celes BSB1 on the daily today, something I wanted a long time ago but kept evading me. At least it's a source of holy infusion in case I get her awakening someday.

Oh wow, I've had Celes BSB1 for ages and I never realized it gave infuse-holy. That is super useful with her Awakening, it makes her usable for top end holy teams!

I disagree, I don't think the AOSB lucky is very worthwhile. Too many characters in the pool, and AOSBs are almost worthless if you don't already have other good stuff for that character.

don't necessarily need anything good, they're like the perfect complement to en-element LMRs and it seems like i have those for half the cast by now

that said i'm still not sure about pulling. i already have most of the AOSBs i really want, just missing Squall and Lightning. which, funnily enough, are headlining the banner. they really want me to pull on it i guess!

B4 I just don't care enough about the characters except for TGC

How many USBs have people taken from the anima lens shop so far? I have enough for 3 selections but I don't really know what to use them on. Debating whether it's better to take something that might help me with a torment but probably won't have any use outside of that, or something to improve my characters are already useful like getting USBs for my chain holders, or Bartz USB2 when that gets added, etc.

I got Desch USB and recently Alphmau USB, both for torment purposes. I think I got another USB earlier but I forgot which one.

I also finally got a disco off the daily that wasn't a dupe, Meia OSB! Yeah it's an OSB but at least it's for a rare realm. The game sure like giving me Meia relics out of random, since I also got her LMR, BSB and recently her USB from grab bags. Too bad I'm already stacked on water mages though (except an awakening)

I was planning to draw on b4 today but now I'm questioning it. I like Orlandu, but he's not relevant for 6* magicite unless he gets enholy... and he'll be back in 3 months on Tactics b2 (2xG5) that also has Ramza's holy chain. Meia/Gogo stuff would be useful... but there's the Black Chocobo Water banner in 2 weeks and I like those characters more. I like Lightning, but I've cleared Lightning Odin, and it seems like her Synchro is way better than her Awakening. That kind of leaves Firion as the grand prize (need to beat II torment somehow, and his enholy USB keeps him relevant in 6* magicite).
