Yeah dunno who said that, it's been fairly consistent.

Imagine they'll be some pushback start of next season but right now it was great.

I don't read/watch it but I read the spoilers. Seems like the plot keeps dramatically shifting which turns some people off.

Just finished season 2. I guess I can see how the Krista/Ymir stuff got old fast, and Levi never did a damn thing. On to season 3.

There's a chunk of the series that focuses more on internal politics than the Titans, and while anime watchers weren't really affected by it, you have to keep in mind that since it's a monthly series people who are following the manga had to deal with a year or more of there basically being no Titans on page. The series got the nickname attack on politics around that time for a reason.

And then the author decided to have a Time skip and readers spent another six months on characters that were brand-new that nobody cared about.

It's all starting to come together and pay off now, but there was a pretty long stretch there where month to month no one cared what was going on.

the payoff has been incredible

the show goes through two premise-changes and basically a genre-shift but does so fantastically

people who still think of it as "anime walking dead and the zombies are giant" are in the stone age plot-wise

Lmao I said the same thing when I heard his name. Something tells me it's a case of a Japanese writer taking a random western name and just using that, like when American writers just use random Chinese or Japanese names names that could be their equivilant to Urkel.

Got bad when? Season 3 part 1 is kinda meh. But the secone half of season 3 where the anime just ended is great. Where the manga right now is great too.

If you weren't reading month to month at the time you wouldn't understand our pain. @s0nicfan nailed the reasons people were unhappy with the story.
