Yeah. At least MS lets you download them and use them for 30 days like you bought them, then they expire. Thats not too bad, but even then Id rather be able to download it once and just leave it there forever.

I don't get why anyone would do this. Input lag is gonna be insane. The games are gonna look like shit cuz of compression and chroma subsampling. Can't play when your Internet connection's out. You're not even gonna have any game files, so when Google decides to shut down Stadia in a few years, you're completely fucked.

Thumper's one of the games on Stadia? Yeah, rhythm games sure are gonna work well when you have a half a second of input lag.

Agreed.

I have a ShieldTV. I tried playing a game, streamed from my gaming PC. Both devices wired with a gigabit connection to my router. My PC is pretty beefy.
There was still enough input lag to make it literally unplayable.

to even stream the games you need a bandwith fast enough that it could just download them anyway

I take it you never played sega channel. Amazing concept and it got me into a few games I would have never tried.

And some of the games on it are lost. Same thing with the Satellaview. That's what's gonna happen to these Stadia exclusive games if Google shuts it down unless the developer rereleases them elsewhere or a Google employee leaks the game files.

I can't find a list of lost Sega Channel or Satellaview games, but this is what's on the Lost Media Wiki.

I streamed games to my phone from my PC not too long ago and it was unplayable because of the input lag, unless I was in the same room and had my controller hooked up to my PC instead of the phone. Needless to say I am against streaming becoming a mainstream thing.

That's not the issue. The issue is how much bandwidth the service it self uses. Google would need to strike deals with every single ISP so that their service is uncapped.

And a lot of those ISPs do not serve some places. Xfininty, AT&T, Comcast, etc are not available where I live.

Both are significant issues. US Internet infrastructure simply isn't where it needs to be for streaming to have any hope of replacing traditional game distribution, as much as those pushing streaming services would like that.

None of these are the real issue. Real issue is its turdy and I don't like it.

Yes, when we start getting into whether or not it's a good deal for consumers, even more problems arise (such as the aforementioned potential disappearance of games from the service).
