It's the same "Woe is me, these angry and evil leftist progressives are just unreasonable to ever work with us and due to their behavior we are seeing bipartisanship destroyed!" bullshit that they all claim is what happened in this country while they completely ignore how Republicans behaved specifically since 2008 and them running and embracing a man who spends EVERY SINGLE DAY insulting and attacking his "enemies", and has since the damn start of his campaign.

Either they are too stupid to see reality or simply ignoring it to push the victim narrative they want to be true

there is no "radical left" in this country. we don't have revolutionary or even incremental socialists, communists of either the right or left variety, left anarchists, etc anywhere in politics at the federal or state level (can't speak with any certainty about municipalities since there's too many to count, but I'm pretty sure that's a wash too). no, Bernie Sanders and AOC don't count, they're basically somewhere between the UK libdems and Labour

if anything the US leans heavily right and socially conservative, especially with the way we back super hard right regimes in our foreign policy

Am I missing something? A lot of progressives treat their beliefs the same as any fundamentalist. It's all for the "moral good", and there can be no deviation.

Kazi has admitted to saying stuff he doesn't believe just to troll.

That wan't a troll post, I wasn't saying I think there was anything wrong in taking one's political ideals and principles and treating them metaphysically philosophically speaking. Hell, we wouldn't have classical liberalism and the establishment of human rights it it wasn't for this fact. Locke, Marx, Hobbes etc.. . all derives their political ideologies from metaphysical basis.

He is right about progressives, but the same thing applies to conservatives. Extremists treat politics like a team sport, and if you aren't on the right team then you're the bad guy.

It's definitely an accurate description of progressives, he's not wrong there.

But he's also blatantly projecting. The GOP has fully embraced the exact same kind of populism so he's in no position to be talking about a form of conservatism the GOP hasn't practiced in nearly 100 years.
