What should I know going into this? I dropped Persona 3 FES and havent touched the series since.

It's a great game, one of my favorites, but I have to ask, why now when Persona 5 Royal the massively updated version is coming out in like 3 months?

Because Im just about to start a new job with lots of overtime, so my free time will drop down a bit. So Id rather play it now that I have the time.

The story is long and the game is very story driven. It takes it's time to get going but personal life is also important. I mean you've only been playing for around 3 hours.

What you should know? Ryuji is a fucking idiot. He has a good heart, but he's an idiot.

It takes a while (10 hours or so maybe?) until you're able to actually go out and do stuff in your social life but the game also takes like 80 hours so you get plenty of time doing that stuff.

Here's my one tip, try to do a new palace as soon as possible once you have it open. I waited until the last day for the first one and ran out of time and I have to redo an entire week in game.

Also yes, do a palace as soon as you possibly can to maximize the amount of time you can work on social links + momentos.

Basically, it goes like this:

Palace? Finish immediately.
Momentos? Finish immediately.
Social links.

Repeat.

Im disappointed this first level of Momentos didnt have a boss. Dont tell me its always like this. For how short it was, I anticipated... more.

ALSO, it is BULLSHIT that I studied hard every week and got every question in class AND on the exam right, and it practically ended by telling me that I probably wasnt going to do well. Does this first exam just fuck over everyone regardless?

Mementos is like the worst part about the game... be prepared to do it all over again multiple times

The questions on the exam are like 95% the same questions you already answered. The "bosses" in Momentos are side quest related, I wouldn't bother going in until you have like 3 quests you can complete. It's not a complete waste of the day going in but there's usually better things you could be doing.

Yusuke is great shut ur mouth.

Haru might aswell not even exist though, I hope she gets more screentime in Royal.

Oh no, Im enjoying Yusuke, Im just saying that he feels tacked on. When I say hes extraneous, I dont mean hes annoyingy, I mean that he feels like an extra in scenes. Like the story was made for Protagonist-Morgana-Ryuji-Ann, and Yusuke was bumped up from a character starring in only one arc, to a main character. Except they didnt think to really give him an arc to follow or a reason to stay other than Im Phantom Thieves now.

and dont get me wrong, the others kinda suffer from this too. But it feels worse with Yusuke.

The more I think about it, the more I appreciate P3 for keeping its cast relevant after their designated arc.

Yes! Exactly, keeping character developement confined in the optional social links seriously damages the overall cast, it would be like having to watch all the filler of a shonen to fully understand the characters.

P3 is still my favorite because of the characters having real development.

Lol even Harus development leading up to her Persona is rushed.

This palace is definitely the hardest so far. I got an unlucky ambush and died in one turn. And Jokers has to carry the team HARD here, so his MP is running dangerously low.

Im not sure I can finish this in one trip, even with two SP Adhesives on Joker and Ann.

Every other place has been a spot actual thieves might steal from. But... this is a Fucking space station
