A few years back I had an earwax impaction so bad I was losing my hearing. The doc pulled so much wax outta my ear that it would blow your mind. Been getting it done every few months since. It helps and tbh it feels great. You wouldnt believe how much earwax buildup you got and dont even know it

How deep do you feel comfortable shoving something into your ear

I'd rather a doctor do it for sure

You risk doing permanent damage to your ear doing it yourself. You cant see what youre doing or how deep you go

I do that sometimes. I need to do it again soon. a doctor told me a couple years ago that my ear canals are smaller than normal I think. or something like that. and on top of that, I have excess wax production. I've had them cleaned many times over the past like 20 years

This is what I do. Even without the hydrogen peroxide, it removes a ton of shit. You don't stick it all the way in and leave it on the lowest setting and it just acts like an ear flushing machine.

(good for your teeth too, but use a different tip for that lol)

This doesnt need a PSA. You have overactive glands or something. Ive never needed to have it done.

You probably have a huge build up and dont know it. Sometimes you cant feel it at all or just get desensitized to it

Get your ears cleaned by a doctor.

Bad idea:

Ya, that little bulb they give you when you get debrox is almost useless.

I had it done once and got a helluva whopper out. Could hear like a champ afterwards. I should do it again. I use a washcloth while I'm in the shower to get just the surface stuff that can be seen.

Edit for above post: Regular doctor can do it. Did for me anyway.

This, I've never had a problem with excessive earwax, meanwhile my brother produces so much he has to get it flushed out every few months.

Unless you have a severe blockage, save the money (over time), and buy one of these. Fill it with 1/3 warm water (never hot or cold), 1/3 rubbing alcohol, 1/3 hydrogen peroxide and keep spraying inside the ear. Hold a bowl underneath your ear and it will eventually shoot out.

Ear cleaning felt so good, kinda miss it. But the last time i had my ears cleaned it was some boomer nurse who did it and she did it rough and painfully. That sucked.

Depends. I had an earwax buildup that required me to go to an ENT specialist because my doctors office tried and failed to get it out.

this is what my doctor's office uses anyway I'm pretty sure, or at least similar enough to be nearly indistinguishable

Because it has a considerable risk of perforation of the eardrum and permanent hearing loss. It is a high pressure water jet after all.

Ear wax is a natural and helpful substance that protects you. Most people should never need a real ear cleaning. You generally shouldn't be putting anything in your ear ever. Even with qtips or a wet rag you should only be doing the outside parts.

That happened to me once. It got so bad I could hardly hear out of my one ear. I went to a otolaryngologist and he used some tool to pull the earwax out. He was damn good at it too. He couldn't believe that my primary doctor completely missed that my ears were full of wax.
