I had to have a couple back teeth pulled because I had to have a bone tumor pulled out of my skull.

Cant imagine all of them.

not sure how it affects veneers, but Ive heard mouthwashes like Lysterine actually damage enamel if used everyday

Veneers require your actual teeth to be in good shape and still present in your mouth and it sounds like his likely aren't for the first and possibly aren't for the second.

I had 15 teeth pulled at once (front 5 on top, back molars on both sides on top, both molars on both sides on bottom, and 4 impacted wisdom teeth).

Got the front 5 on top and the front molars on either side of the bottom replaced with dental implants. Best decision of my life, tbh. Can't even begin to explain how big of a change it was to actually be able to open my mouth and smile in public without being ashamed and embarrassed by my teeth. It has literally changed my life.

I really feel for people who have bad dental situations, especially due to how fucking expensive even standard dental care of going to a dentist for cleanings or stuff like birth issues or accidents. I had a handful of cavities while young and when my parents had no dental, but thankfully almost all of them I was able to get filled and they were able to afford the cost and I never lost any of them. Right now I just had to get a root canal I had done on a back molar retreated due to an infection still coming in the remains of the other root and my dentist is in the process of negotiating down the price of the treatment of getting it cleared after I just received a bill of $1700 when the insurance company claimed the treatment wasn't "medically necessary" due to already having a root canal in that tooth. So far they got it down to about $800 and are still fighting with them to get it down to the $200 that the insurance company initially said the claim would be estimated at. Still waiting to get a permanent crown put in too, which likely will cost me a few more hundred bucks unless the company plays hardball again, then I'm looking at $1000 at least. All of this makes me wish I just had them pull the damn thing, its the top back second molar anyway and you can't see it.

Anyway good luck to all you peeps who have it far worse than me, I can't imagine how awful it must be

Yeah I've always found it insane that health care doesn't cover dental or vision so you either have to rely on your work's plan (the quality of which of course varies from place to place) or pay for a third-party plan, which again can vary depending on who you go with.

Bad/poor oral health can literally kill you.

I'm lucky enough to have dental through my employer, which is Delta Dental, which has usually been good but the fact that they deemed this unneeded pissed me off extremely about a month ago when I got the bill a few days before Christmas. The fucking root wasn't completely cleared due to the shape of my jaw and I needed to go to a specialist to get the thing cracked back open and cleared because an infection had sprung up through no fault of my own(according to both my dentist and the specialist these things sometimes happen with the shape of human teeth and fuck, maybe so, the hell do I know different?) and they had the audacity to basically claim it was my fault for not being able to clean up under a crowned root canal.

Another reason why ANY future POTUS's medical plan needs to have dental and vision included(such as M4A)

I lied about tooth pain while i was locked up to get my wisdom teeth pulled for free. They crowded my mouth. Dentist was a pro used to pulling out gnarly meth mouth teeth and he broke the teeth out like a champ, fast and no pain. Feels so good.

Then i got a tooth pulled that broke and was causing my serious pain. The dentist was a girl and she had to pry with all her might and use several tools to get it out because i have long roots. I asked to check the tooth after she pulled it, looked like something out of a werewolfs mouth. They wouldnt let me have it though. 'Biohazard'

Also knew this cat who got almost all his teeth pulled in prison back in the day just so he could get at the painkillers they used to give you after. Think about that. But he was serving life on a triple homicide. Took his case all the way to state supreme court and got himself released after doing damn near 30 years. 18 on Death Row. He was straight Crazy too, zero fucks given heartless dude. Got away with murder then went to selling meth.

When I was in 1st grade I fell and hit two of my teeth on a bar and killed them, meaning that they tuned brown. lack if calcium, maybe? I never really understood it.

Anyways, since they hurt for a bit after that I starred to get bad at brushing, and this gave me a few early cavities and pissed my dad off because it cost money. So then he would hold me down and scrub my teeth and it was very badly traumatized me. I cant even be in the same room as someone brushing because it will give me a horrible panic attack. I have to turn away and hold my ears if I see somebody brushing in TV.

So my teeth got worse and worse and then I got them all removed.

It's how I quit smoking cigarettes. I was so high on pain pills and just slept for a few days. Then when I was up and moving around, I took one drag, it tasted like shit, and never smoked again. I beat the hard, early cravings by sleeping through it.
