If i ever found a guy with a feminine thick ass and wasnt too annoying Id probably go with him if we had enough in common though.

Its just my standards for a gay relationship are so high it probably isnt feasible.

I feel like my imaginary boyfriend would be in too high demand anyway.

To be fair, if you relate way more easily to men, and find it much easier to be friends with them than women, you would theoretically be able to form way more meaningful relationships with a guy than you would a woman. Only being sexually attracted to women is a roadblock to that, but if you could choose your sexual preference just by deciding you want to, then you'd have the best of both worlds.

But straight guys could also form best friends with females and do the same thing. Plus, as a gay guy, it seem easier to make female friends. Idk. I never really see gay guys who are fucking their best friend, I guess... Most gay guys I see either have a female best friend, or straight male best friend. I had both. My SO did have gay best friends. But they never fucked or anything... Well, I should say he didn't with them. They were just friends even though they were both gay.

For someone who finds it way easier or worthwhile to have male friends than to have female friends, it's not necessarily that easy.

I do agree that the ideal for straight men is to "find a girlfriend/wife who is also your best friend" (that cliche exists for a reason), but if every friend you have is male, I could see the appeal of the idea of being gay so you could find your "best friend"/"fuckbuddy" among other dudes.

I'd argue it probably depends on what sort of personality and interests you have. In some ways, I'd say it has far less to do with whether or not someone is gay, as much as how "camp" or "queer" they are.

If a gay guy loves shopping, fashion, shoes, and talking about how cute guys asses are, I can see why they'd relate more to women in terms of interests and friendship. On the other hand, a gay guy who has more traditionally masculine interests, or who has a ton of geeky interests that are traditionally things that women either seem disinterested in or outright dislike, could easily be way more comfortable among guys.

I actually know gay men that fit both categories. My cousin definitely falls into the "token gay friend" with mostly female friends, but I used to play RPGs with a nerdier gay dude who had almost exclusively male friends.

One could also argue that the idea of being gay so you could hook up with someone like you who shares your interests can potentially shade into narcissism, where you're literally looking for someone "like you".

I guess that could work if everyone could choose gay or straight. I only say that because I had plenty of male friends. But they were straight. So, not really fuck buddies. And not plentiful. So, most of the time, the gay guys at the school usually weren't best friends even if they were just friends. I knew enough of them. And usually dated someone at another school. But if would also depend on how well you clicked, as well... For some reason, most gay guys were really into the same stuff. Like I think I knew one or two other gay guys in the school who liked video games. So, I guess if EVERYBODY could choose, this would work. If it's just one person choosing, it'd be the same as being born gay. And be as hard as it is for most gay people to find a gay best friend fuck buddy...

Yeah. It's easy to like both. Like I like shopping with friends, new shoes (but not overly expensive), and talking about cute guy's asses. But I love video games and geeky stuff. A couple of the females in our group also played video games. I think that's more of a person to person thing instead. Not to mention, our group was pretty mixed. Lots of males and females, different races, slightly different ages, etc... I don't think it was easier to get along with anyone based on gender or anything. .But our random interest. Well, and I was generally a nice person who wanted to make friends. I say it easier based on what I've seen. Most of the time, it seems easier to get the female friends than it is for straight people, I guess...

And I can never find anyone like me. I can barely find gay guys that like video games. I have found a few, but they're just friends. I'm not even looking for someone to be like me. But to just like them. My current SO doesn't play. But he'll ask about them. And knows some stuff. He use to sometimes play a while ago, but not much...
